Shifting Growth has had an amazingly positive impact on our community. What used to be an empty, unused lot in the Hastings Sunrise neighbourhood is now a thriving garden where we go to plant and harvest vegetables and herbs. Keep up the great work!

Incredibly good value & well-run community garden, offering a decent sized raised bed (3'x4') filled with good quality soil for a very modest annual admin fee. Boxes are spaced a reasonable distance apart, so no problem keeping up social distancing while still being able to chat with folks working on adjacent boxes. There's a real sense of community, with most gardeners living or working in the immediate neighbourhood.I've noticed quite a few folks visit just to enjoy the variety of veggies & flowers that people are growing. (My grandmother said it was even better than going to Van Dusen!). There's even a picnic table on site. Hoping that the developer who owns the plot will be slow to move on this very central location and that it will still be available in 2021! Will be keeping an eye on development permitting process for this site, for sure.

What a wonderful space to grow. The beds are excellent, easy to access, water is available (which is a big big plus), and the compost which is provided makes for very fertile soil.I grow carrots, beets, chard, beans, onions, lettuce, chard, potatoes and some tomatoes and am amazed at how much fresher and better tasting they are than store bought. Plus, I know that they are grwon without chemicals.Getting hands in the soil is a good way to connect with nature.Thanks CGB for all your work!

Having a space to grow in the city has been a HUGE asset for me. As a gardener, it’s been so helpful to have these spaces to grow when most community gardens have 2 year wait lists and my apartment doesn’t have any sun. I feed myself from my garden all season long, and I’ve very much enjoyed the sense of community when chatting with other gardeners in the space... and sharing harvest with them!THANK YOU Community Garden Builders, keep up the great work!

Love the garden, everything is well maintained. Really nice when they take care of bringing in compost etc.The rats are sometimes an issue but…idk what can be done about that. Love that they provide us info and stuff about planting.

I have really loved having community garden plots for the past year! The garden is in a great location and my fresh vegetable yield was great last season. I really hope we can stay at this location for a few years!

I have had plots with Community Garden Builders for 2 years now, and it has been wonderful! They are organized and helpful, and the fee for renting garden plots is so reasonable! I wouldn't have had the opportunity to have a garden without them, and I've learned so much. I hope this organization continues to grow

Best community garden organization in town. They provide water, soil and planters, and do not require you to help out" with cleaning or upkeep on the grounds like some other community gardens. We've been gardening with them for almost 5 years and have had so much fun!"

Very much enjoy our garden bed!!!Its awesome to have the space to grow our own veggies. Its a lovely little oasis. I do wish it had more natural greenery along the fence lines to enclose it a little, but completely understand that this garden is only temp.We have had have theft of our veggies last growing season though :(
