A lovely meal at an authentic Italian restaurant. Fresh ingredients and we'll presented dishes. Hard working and friendly staff. This place gets busy, so make a reservation or arrive early. It's loud when it packed.

The food was quite good, service was excellent. It can get a tad expensive but that's true of any fancy Italian restaurant. Please have the decency to dress nice to this place, you're just embarrassing yourself. My one complaint is that the parking lot is a dirt parking lot and being it rained it was a huge puddle so I had to sacrifice my right heel in puddle water to make it out. The plates we order are; veal, lasagna, the sampler and the pescatore.

We were very excited to try La Strada for the first time. A family member had previously dined here and only had amazing things to say.We had reservations booked and arrived on time. Not sure if it was the owner or manager, but when we arrived we were greeted very coldly. He didn't smile, didn't say welcome, and gave the impression that he was surprised/bothered by our presence. We were not given a very nice table, while there were nicer ones open. Very bad first impression.The waiter was very nice, but had to come back after he took our order to confirm what the three of us had ordered, and when he came to the table with the dishes, he was mixing up who ordered what. Not that big of a deal.I can say the food was excellent. We ordered an entrée each and two appetizers to share. All three of us really enjoyed our meals.Not a fan of the ambiance. It was very loud and came off very pretentious. It was hard to hear each other and have a conversation as the volume of noise was way too loud.At the end of our meal, we paid cash and tipped around 23% as we rounded out the bill. I watched the waiter return to the bar and count the bills and when he was finished, looked up at our table with a sour look on his face, and proceeded to toss the billfold aside on the bar in an annoyed manner. Considering we paid $300.00 for dinner, his reaction made us very uncomfortable. When we got up to leave, we passed by our waiter and the owner/manager and neither of them acknowledged us, said thank you for coming" or "hope to see you again" or anything. They were not busy with other staff/patrons.All in all

This place was great; food was perfect, service was good, decor was nice. It can get a little loud at times when it's more busy. Free parking is a real plus. The Gamberoni was exquisite, grilled squid was a treat, pistachio tartufo was amazing.

By far Ottawa's best Italian restaurant. We usually have the wings, zucchini, lamb and Diablo pasta. Can't say enough about how good that lamb is! Service is top notch, owner is there almost every time we go and the standards are just HIGH. Our go to.

3 visits, has been great each time. Remember you get what you pay for. You are going to eat and drink here, everything you get is quality. Expect to pay for quality. It’s not Eastside Mario’s. This is authentic, chef made to order real cuisine. Their service team know their stuff. You can expect consistent, quality and service. Average bill for my wife and I has been 275.00. We have appetizers, mains, dessert, drinks and coffees. Very happy and highly recommended.

The food was delicious! Our server was well versed, friendly, and around when we needed her.The decor was elegant. On the downside, the restaurant got quite noisy as it filled up - there were no sound baffles.

We were there this weekend and loved everything! The service was great and the food excellent - we really enjoyed the special (ribs). Definitely the best carbonara I've had in the city. Negroni & Tiramisu were both on point. Great value too, would go again anytime.
