The Desi Basket
Just had my first tikki chaat. A little more cilantro, tamarind and other sauce would have earned all five stars. The bread pakora was totally dry. Will not order that again. Don’t skimp on the sauces etc guys…after all what is chaat without the sauces??!! So excited to see all the other items on their menu and looking forward to trying everything. Hopefully the food (and spice level) will remain authentic as it is now. Well done!

I want to congratulate you on your new store, its nice and big. Your new Cafe is awesome too, I tried a butter masala dosa and it was excellent! Hope you add a few curries to the menu. A great addition to Belleville.

Desi basket in Belleville is a great store , friendly staff , according to our emergency they vl do service. Tonight I urgently need some stuff ,store actually closed at 10 pm. But , I told the staff she understood and open it for me . Keep it up . All time they deserve appreciation. Thank you Desi basket .!!!for your Amazing staff’s and services.

We came in out of curiosity, came out amazed and with a handful of items.The Deli Cafe hidden indoors is a gem, we had Samosas Chaat and Masala Dosa, absolutely delicious, cannot say enough…happy tummies

We ordered chilli paneer that was half cooked and very terrible.moreover they added some raw veggies to increase the quantity of chilli paneer…no gravy ..nothing.Very very bad experience.we wasted 38 dollars.

Good place for Indians but the costs are high. Try searching in FreshCo first, then come here, if you want to save some money. But the thing that impressed me the most is the service of the staff. Secondly, despite having space constraints, they have almost all the things that I required, including those with which I expected not to be available.

My son was visiting from Saskatchewan and was looking for this type of store. So glad he found it. Excellent selection and the prices are so good! Very friendly staff, enjoyed the shopping experience.

This review is strictly pertaining to my experience with the Desi Cafe. Haven't had the chance to grocery shop yet.Absolutely amazing. Had the samosa chaat today with an extra samosa for the road and both were fantastic. The samosa chaat is wonderfully bright and flavorful with a great combination of textures and a playful amount of heat.As I sat waiting on my order I looked over the menu again and frankly I can't wait to get back and try everything they have on offer.
