Big Tub Harbour Resort

Awesome place. We came from about 3 hours out of town and were going to arrive late. Big Tub Harbour was very very accommodating. We initially thought we would arrive around 12-1am but ended up arriving closer to 2am. The gentleman in the lobby (also a comforting security guard) patiently waited for us, which was amazing.The Lyons Den where we stayed exceeded our expectations.We didn't think it would be horrible by any means we just didn't have high expectations.The cottage was amazing ! Very clean and spacious. The private backyard directly off the lake was the icing on top!

Overall, it was a great place to stay for 2 nights and clean place. I didn't get any additional toiletries and towels despite requesting them as per their process (leaving a request card on the door knob and leaving dirty towels outside). That was disappointing indeed.

Great location. Great staff, Jennifer the GM was very attentive as were others, despite the general staff shortage. While the restaurant is undergoing a refurb. (opening 2024?) it's pretty close to the main entertainment core.

We loved our stay at Big Tub Harbour resort. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The view from the room was beautiful and the balcony overlooking the water was a perfect place to relax at night. Would definitely stay again.

I stayed at the Lyon's Den cottage with 5 of my friends. The cottage was beautiful...modern, clean, spacious, with a fully equipped kitchen. The master bedroom has a walk out on to the deck and it overlooks the water. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I recently had the pleasure of spending three delightful days at the end of June at the Big Tub Harbour Resort in Tobermory.Nestled away from the typical hustle and bustle, the resort enjoys an enviably serene location. The tranquility is a welcome departure from the cacophony of traffic and crowds found in busier hotels in town. Despite its quiet locale, the resort is conveniently a short drive away from town.The accommodation offered by the resort was impressively clean and tastefully appointed. Our room on the second floor offered stunning views of the Big Tub Harbor. Waking up to the mesmerizing sight of the harbour was an experience that left us in awe every morning. Notably, the standard of the rooms far exceeded that of other facilities we've tried in Tobermory.Adding to the overall charm of the resort was the proximity to the Lighthouse – a short, leisurely walk away. The resort also provided kayak rentals, which made for an adventurous day exploring the harbour and coastline. Their docks are well-maintained and offer a great spot for leisure.What stood out most during our stay was the friendly front desk staff. They were always ready with a smile and provided prompt assistance and a fresh cup of coffee, making our stay that much more comfortable and enjoyable.However, no review is complete without pointing out room for improvement. On some nights, we did experience disturbance due to loud guests. Additionally, there were instances of cigarette and cannabis smoke, which can be off-putting for non-smokers. While I understand these are things beyond the resort's control, it did slightly mar the otherwise exceptional experience.Despite minor inconveniences, the Big Tub Harbour Resort delivered an enchanting escape. This property embodies Tobermory's tranquility and beauty and is certainly a gem worth discovering. For those looking for a serene, beautiful spot in Tobermory, I would highly recommend Big Tub Harbour Resort.

Decent location, 3 minute walk away from the Big Tub Light House and a short 5-10 minutes drive from town. The only problem is parking while you are in town.The Waterfront Queen room was cozy and offered pretty good sound proofing as it blocked out the crying baby next door. (Heard them through the windows while outside)My partner and I were slightly disappointed by the closed kayak rental due to low water temperature, but overall happy with my stay, the service, and accomodations.

Very pretty spot. We stayed in one room facing the lake. So scenic and pretty to watch the sunrise. The balcony was very spacious. The rooms very clean and the service was good. The kayaks weren’t open unfortunately but otherwise we had a good time. The light house is a close walk and the resort is in a good location.

The stay was wonderful, Had almost everything in the room. The staff was friendly and informative. Gave me a heads up about the restaurant closure time which helped us to get food before reaching the place. Room was clean and everything looked new.I would love more if you had an Iron box in the room.

We enjoyed our stay at the big tub harbour Resort. Staffs are very friendly. The on site restaurant is not open when we were there, but there is a station for coffee, tea or hot water inside the registration office. No cooking allowed in the unit. We bought some cooked food from foodland and enjoyed the meal at our balcony over viewing the water. Location is very good, it is right by the big tub Harbour close to the lighthouse. We were in a water view room, balcony is big and we enjoyed sitting in the balcony watching the sunset , so beautiful. Room is spacious and comfortable. The only thing needs improvement is the cleanliness of the room. We saw hairs in the drawers and bathroom floor. All in all, we recommend big tub harbour resort, will stay again if we visit Tobermory.
