This a great studio with awesome staff and a good atmosphere. I've tried out several studios in the Burnaby Tri-City area and while I love to practice BIKRAM YOGA anywhere this is my personal favorite studio. I like the cleanliness of the facility, the ample shower space and the locker service is a great feature. I am a single parent of two kids and can find it difficult to get child care to go to the gym or do any activities for my self, and I find another great benefit this studio offers is the child care service during select class times. on a personal level I cant say enough about this form of yoga, when I started practicing over a year ago I had a very bad shoulder problem and within a short time of going to class I was able to sleep on my right side again and gain full motion back in my shoulder. on top of this I have lost about 90 pounds of fat do in large to Bikram Yoga and being health conscious, as well as gaining a lot of full body strength. I am constantly trying to get my family and friends to come and give it a shot and I've managed to turn both my parents into regular practitioners.

Even though it's quite a drive away from home, I still prefer this studio due to its amenities, great instructors, and convenient time slots scheduled. The one thing that really got me was how sparkling clean the whole studio is (i.e. the hot yoga room, the showers, locker room, washroom, lounge). I always feel clean and relaxed every time I step out. Been here a few times more, will definitely continue to come.

I actually really loved this location. Clean and spacious, staff members were nice and helpful. The only issue I have is how this place handled its closure. Members were not notified of the closure until TWO days after it had closed its doors. No refunds, only an offer from other bikram locations to take on unfinished classes. That is nice of them to take this on.This could've been handled much better, especially when I came in two days prior to the closure to renew classes. A warning would've been nice. It just boggles my mind. From my experience with the facility, I would've given 4-5 stars, but this issue alone, coupled with the disappointment of not being able to practice here any longer, just left a bad taste in my mouth.

BYB is the best studio I have been to---and I didn't realize it until I tried a class elsewhere. The instructors are friendly and the staff are super nice. Lots of free parking, a large studio that has ample space to lounge before and after class, and the hot room is cleaned between every class. There are private showers as well as open showers for those in a hurry and complimentary lockers. Try it out--you won't be disappointed.

The studio is really nice and clean, and all the instructors are good, although some do speak a bit fast. However, I've had back problems for a few years and the first time I ever did hot yoga my back started feeling better right away!

This is a fantastic studio. They've taken care of all of the little details, so that you don't have to think about anything but the yoga. The change room is outstanding. There is plenty of space, it is well lit, and always clean. It also has coin-op lockers that work - but they provide tokens at no extra cost. The studio is spacious, but doesn't feel cavernous. I've been in classes that have 30+ people as well as classes with only 5 people - regardless of the numbers I've always felt that the teacher is paying attention to everyone. They also offer childcare at various times during the week!

From being greeted by the lovely front desk helpers, your yoga teacher or one of the owners, you instantly feel like you are where you are meant to be. The studio is beautifully kept, it's easy to find parking and the women's change room is always impeccably clean.Great way to improve overall health and well being!

BYB is a great studio, from the facilities, the staff, and availability of class times. The hot room and change room are impeccably clean, with plenty of space, and the lounge area provides a calming ambiance. All the instructors are friendly, and dedicated to making everyone’s individual yoga experience a positive one.

EDIT: This studio has permanently closed and the review is no longer relevant. This place is great. I have never been to any other yoga studio but seems like this hot yoga studio has it all covered. The studio is spacious, clean, well maintained and has nice ambiance. There are plenty of free lockers (dummy quarters at front desk). The instructors and staff are very friendly and helpful. The hot room is well kept nicely designed. There are well positioned ceiling fans and a robust HVAC system to meet the hot yoga`s ambient space requirements. I have happened to notice the digital room sensors on several occasions and the temperature readings never deviated a lot from 40 degrees. Even during a fully packed class, the CO2 ppm levels were not high which means that the studio pumps in fresh outdoor air and heats it up for the studio rather than recirculating stale air to save heating costs. In terms of the practice, the 90 minute series offers a lot to the body. I never even considered trying hot yoga until I had my first experience with lower back injuries. Bothered with sciatica and my leg going numb when seated, I looked online to find some Bikram Yoga testimonials. Having been not so bendy all my life, I was apprehensive at first but felt encouraged after talking to one of the front end staff I knew from high school. I signed up for the 2 week trial right away. The pesky symptoms of my injury disappeared withing a few weeks (or so I thought) and I became infrequent with my visits and returned to my poor postural habits and activities. After a few months, I decided to try practicing regularly to as a preventive measure but soon after I started, an accident rendered my lower back with a much more severe injury. Initially, I thought I would never be able to walk properly again and X-ray showed significant loss of space between my L5-S1 and L4-L5 discs along with a hip tilt causing my right hip to be higher than my left hip. I was in extreme pain and getting in and out of bed was very difficult. Fortunately, the most severe symptoms diminished after a month and I am slowly making my way to be able to practice the whole series and heal my spine. There are certain forward bending postures and situps that are still painful and I sit out on these. However, I am definitely noticing progress in spine health. The spine strengthening series is amazing and my back is starting to feel less fragile. I am sure the day is not far when I am able to do every single set of postures and situps in the series. I am really grateful towards the instructors for my progress. Even though the instruction dialogue is 90% the same regardless of who the instructor is, I still learn something new about proper technique every class because the instructors at this studio pay good attention to students' form and attempt to correct mistakes right away. I have noticed other benefits from the practice as well which include increased flexibility (duh?), deeper sleep, better skin, stronger immunity and a curbed appetite (good for an overweight me craving food all the time). The only undesirable I have noticed is that I continue to sweat for a brief time period after class but I guess there are a lot of other factors at play such as diet, weight, hydration and mineral balance.

The first thing you notice about this studio is the cleanliness, the space and friendly staff. It has a great atmosphere. The changing rooms (ladies, I don't know about the guys), have enough lockers to accommodate those who come during peak times and there are plenty of showers. I mention this because I went to a studio where there were no lockers and only three showers and was hard to get changed without bumping into someone.A well planned, thought out space. I highly recommend this studio.
