My child went here for two months but I didn’t write a review at the time. However, I am standing live on location in front of the centre waiting for an appointment at a nearby business and could not just let it go as I previously decided. To sum it up this is a business that is ran extremely poorly. The quick and constant turnover of staff is the # 1 indication of the lack of proper management. The owner once told me that she wishes she was an ECE as they get paid more than her. In my head I thought, I would recommend instead she go to business school and learn how to run a business, communicate and treat people. All the communication was dramatic. Sudden 3+ days of closures (staffing). When asked how my child would be consoled the supervisor told me they don’t pick up the children as they will expect it. If you want a gentle, respectful parenting approach, an educated approach of how to rear children stay far away from this place. I literally just witnessed multiple children crying and running away from the staff and the staff were man handling the kids into seated positions. The lack of education, compassion and best practice is evident and has been with every interaction I’ve had with this business. Now I feel so guilty for letting my child go there for the 2 months that she did. I’ve heard numerous stories from fellow parents. If you want an old school approach, you may be okay. If you’re woke to child psychology and business ethics- stay clear.

Amazing Daycare and most importantly people who work there !My son has been going here for few month now and it has been sooooo good.He loves his teachers, loves going there, loves the food, and all the activities that they do!Communication, billing, daily reports are done through the app and easy to follow.

There are a few nice teachers, but the owner/director’s management direction is in question. My son was continually being pushed by a certain kid at this center and dreaded to go to school almost every morning. At first I thought he was just not adjusting very well and making excuses to get out of going, but then I found that what he was saying was true, and I had asked the teachers to keep an eye out. The teacher told me it’s just kids playing around but will still keep and eye out. Unfortunately the pushing did not stop. Every time when I ask my son if he had fun at school, he would say no. Almost every morning he would tell me he doesn’t want to goes to school, because there’s a kid that will push him.Today one of the teachers told me that my son was being pushed by that kid again and fell (being pushed by and fell were her exact words). Some kids around me told me the same thing. I was really upset and brought this to the owner/director, and apparently, she does not find this a problem. She said she didn’t see my son being pushed and fell, she only saw him being nudged. She thinks this is normal at their age (3 years old) and if this is an repetitive behavior, they would te ach them that it’s inappropriate. However my son has been pushed for months already so I don’t think their method works. The impression I get is the director is trying to protect the center’s reputation and the kid that is pushing my son, rather than protect my son from being pushed. Letting things like this go is how you create a bully. But if you’re looking for a place for your baby/toddler to learn to protect themselves, I would say this might be the right place. They may learn it the hard way though.

Our child attended at this centre for almost a year before we moved. We really like the HiMama App they use. We got a daily report on what my child did in their day, what they ate, how much they slept with some pictures. It also has a billing and messaging system on this App. I really like how it is all integrated into one system, very user-friendly app.We enjoyed having our child attend at this centre, they did the best they could with all the pandemic protocols they had to abide by. It was very strict, however, given the circumstances, we knew our child was in good hands. Thank you for an overall great experience for our family!

I am leaving this review as both a parent and an employee. I worked at Mini Retreat Childcare Inc for one year before I had my child and afterwards returning to work with my child. My son has been at Mini Retreat since he was in the Toddler room and he will be there until he goes to school. He is happy to explore all the different materials, see familiar staff each day and create different creative pieces. Working for this establishment has been great, they have an open door policy, very understanding and emphasize on teamwork but more on a family knit level. Management is hands on and works with staff to make changes and improvements when needed. I love being able to bring my son with me to work each day and work with such genuine caring people.

I thought I’d write a review because of a few negative ones. Our daughter has been attending Mini Retreat since august of 2021. We have been more than happy with her care. Teachers are kind and friendly. My daughter most of the time is happy to go and come home, every kid has off days on occasion.Communication is easy and top notch with the hi mama app.COVID/Sickness protocols are very strict, which can be frustrating for the working parent but 100% understandable in this day and age.My nephews attended this daycare about 7 years ago and we are happy to send out little girl and hopefully our second daughter next year if we can get a spot. Thanks again mini retreat.

My son has been attending Mini Retreat daycare on the toddlers side for just under a year. The facility is clean and professionally operated. The meal plans are phenomenal and healthy to boot. The daily reports are a nice touch to keep you updated on what your little one has been up to. I can’t say enough about the staff as my son adores each and every one of his teachers!
