There are many hidden gems on Cape Breton Island and this is but one. Water temperature today was very high and the air temperature higher - hence a perfect combination! Uncovered! A true gem worth finding..

One of the best beaches I have been to in NS. Nice sand that goes well out into the water. And really warm water (late August)... Only saw one jellyfish on the beach. Would highly recommend visiting. We planned on just doing a picnic but ended up staying all day

Enjoyed the beach at West Mabou – dramatic green hillsides and steep cliffs – long beach for walking, ample parking. Water surprisingly warm for nice swimming.

Nice clean beach. The garbage receptacles by the path to the beach were emptied quite frequently. The sand dunes, mountain ranges, and the cliffs offer nice views. The beach itself has a very generous amount of shallow water which made it great for our little boy. We went around 11 and beat the major crowds which came around 2. Very convenient to be able to park close to the walkway to the beach. Outhouses were not in the best of conditions...men's was quite dirty and the women's had a wasp nest and was out of service. Would definitely go back to this beach. Quite remincient of some of the beaches in PEI.

A breezy little nook in a tucked in out of the way area a little ways from Mabou. The trail to the pond was neglected and unfortunately, we didn't have time to hike a longer trail. Would like to go back when I have more time.

Probably my favorite beach in Nova Scotia so far though the dirt/gravel road leading up to it is bumpy! The beach is quite shallow (knee to waist height) which also makes it warm. It is a long beach and even with a packed parking lot there's lots of space. Had a nice nap there! And seeing the mountains/hills in the distance is breathtaking! There are also hiking trails but my friend and I didn't do them. I did have someone tell me on occasion there are riptides and undertows though I didn't see any when I went.

Lovely local beach - totally chill and nice sand. We did the coastal path hike - was easy and nice.
