The Urban Element

Urban Element catered our cocktail style wedding this summer. The staff at Urban Element are incredible! Everyone was so kind and professional. We got so many compliments about the staff and the food at the wedding (especially the late night food!!).

I've said for years that love is the secret ingredient in great food, and these folks prove it. Classes are good size, get enough instruction, but also enough freedom to explore learn and experiment. Chef Anna and Chef Fiona are fantastic teachers, really help you understand the how and why. You can tell all the staff really love what they do, it shows in their teaching methods and in their food. Wish we had a place like this back home, but if we ever visit Ottawa again, this will be on the list for sure. Thank you for a wonderful fun and yummy evening.

We did their Saturday butchery course with Chef Jonathan and it was fantastic! We learned a ton, the guest butcher Andy did a great job and all the staff were very accessible for questions etc. The food we prepared and enjoyed as a class was incredibly delicious, I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who is not a vegetarian!!

We worked with Carley and her team at Urban Element for our November 2021 wedding and I have nothing but great things to say! Planning a wedding during COVID certainly made things trickier sometimes, but Urban Element never missed a beat. Communication was top notch and Carley was extremely friendly and responsive, answering all our questions and never hesitating to hop on a call to work things through. The day-of service went above and beyond. From setup to helping with decor, Carley and her team were beyond helpful. The food itself was AMAZING. We did appetizers and a two course meal, and we got nothing but rave reviews from our guests. Absolutely delicious! Urban Element's attention to detail, ensuring all our guests who had dietary restrictions were taken care of, was really appreciated, and the staff was incredibly friendly. If you're looking for a wedding caterer, I would absolutely recommend reaching out to Urban Element!

I did my first online dinner last night, Moroccan Mezze, with LJ. The whole thing was an amazing experience and the food was fantastic. I'm looking forward to my next!

Absolutely amazing virtual dinner / tasting event! Super delicious food and a great way to taste and learn about some of the Ottawa area’s best food offerings (we got to try hummingbird chocolate and Cada Dia Tequila) as well as learn some tasting and cooking techniques from the experts. A great way to spend a Saturday evening! Looking forward to the next one :D

Elite BMW hired this very competent and wonderful team to cater our event at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum. Our event was an absolute success. The staff was courteous, our food/treats were delicious. From the first time I spoke with Sarah, our communication and organization together gelled. I Recommend this catering company for your next event for sure!!

The Urban Element handled the catering for our wedding at the Ottawa Tennis and Lawn Bowling Club.We can both attest that this was the best wedding food, and some of the best food in general, that we've had, and our guests also repeatedly complimented it as well.While they do have a menu options for events, we were able to work with the Urban Element to have exactly what we wanted. We opted for an Italian buffet consisting of a meat penne and a cheese cannelloni with cesar salad and garlic bread; phenomenal. We also had a late night poutine which was also fantastic. The serving staff were highly professional and on point too.Extremely impressed overall and would suggest to anyone

I had a wonderful experience learning how to cook French bistro food. The staff were attentive, friendly and did a great job explaining the dishes and techniques that we would be using. The class was a good size and the environment was great! I'll definitely be back!
