Have had to contact Sandpiper several times as we have sold our home tht had their equipment in. First call we were told that we own the hot water heater, when asked why they never stopped charging us a monthly rental fee was told You never called us to stop the payments" and was then informed we had to pay a $75 cancellation fee...to stop the rental payments on the hot water heater we were told we now owned!Next call we were send assumption paperwork and told if the new owners don't complete it and send it back then we continue to pay the rental...for a house we no longer live in. But if we want to cancel we can pay $75 to cancel the rental fee...again for the hot water heater we now own!!Now today I have an invoice for the month of July...new owners took over the house in June.Absolute crooks!!"

We had flood in the basement because of their hot water tank. I called the company on Sunday and technician came on Monday but he misdiagnosed it. He said he fixed it and will order the part to replace. Clearly he did not know what he was doing. 30 minutes after he left, there was a flood in the basement again. Now, my tenants are sitting without hot water from 4 days. They have small kids and suffering because of the negligence of this company. I called them many times, they keep hanging up on me and have no care attitude. They are saying they are waiting on the part. which part takes 4 days and who acts like this in emergency. I am sure they have no idea what is happening. I even requested them to send the technician again to see what is going on but they ignored my request and keep telling me they are waiting on the part. This company is a big SCAM. They do not care about their customers and do not know how to act in emergency. They know there is a bigger problem and they are just avoiding it. Truth is TANK needs to be replaced. They are taking money from us but does not want to deliver anything. MOST PATHETIC EXPERIENCE AND MOST UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY, SANDPIPER, HAVE EVER DEALT WITH.

The water heater retail bit is a SCAM for sure. Costs like 600 bucks a year but a new hot water heater is 1000 and the buyout price from the rental agreement is 4 grand. The only good reviews on here are from people who had problems with their service" that somehow miraculously got dealt with. I also talked with a plumber who said to me that hot water heater rentals in general are universally a scam

Saturday morning, I went to have a shower. No hot water. Husband goes downstairs to hot water tank and the tank is spewing water from behind it all over our wall and floors. He gives me the emergency phone number written on the tank and I call it. From 1030am to 515pm I called and the line would click and a busy signal would happen. I called every phone number online, on my bill and on the tank; same thing. I finally got through at 5:16pm to an answering service. She said they would call me right away. At 5:40pm a man called. He said he would send a technician on Monday. I said no, we need hot water! He said he would see if he could get a technician and he would call me right back. Now it’s Sunday morning and we’ve heard nothing. Again, I’ve called allll the numbers and the same thing is happening…..the phone lines aren’t working!! Is the technician coming Monday? Do I need to keep calling? What is the point of an emergency line if nobody answers?!?! Please someone call me back!

When you need help with rental! Don't expect to be helped! Instead get the run around then hanged up on! When asked to speak to someone in management! Well! I'm waiting for two weeks! Wish I could give them a -0!

They are very hard to deal with. They don’t care about customers, they put liens on property upon the initial agreement. I assumed a contract in 2020 that was signed in 2017. The buy out for my $1000 water softener and $4000 water heater was $12000. I tried to negotiate multiple times but they just beat around the bush and force you into paying. It’s the worst business I’ve ever dealt with. The employees don’t understand the concept of compounding and the total cost of their “service” it’s a joke

I have been trying to get Assumption paperwork from Sandpiper for more than a week to no avail. The sale of my home closes tomorrow and I still don't have it. The buyer is now choosing another provider. BUT I have to say that Ali has been a wonderful help today in closing the account. The company failed me but Ali did not.

Absolutely awful experience with this company. I sold my condo and moved in march of 2023. I called sandpiper before hand and got the forms they needed signed. I never heard back from them on confirmation that the account was switched over to the new owner. I have called them 5 times over the last 3 months and I have been in contact with the new owner who says he has mailed out the form (again). Sandpiper employees keep telling me they don't have anything on file. Told me they were going to follow up and they still have not. No emails, no phone calls. They simply don't care.FYI, I have been charged for the past 4 months. Good luck to any existing clients that have to go through a move like me.

Their actions are unconscionable, underhanded and outright illegal.Words cannot describe how terrible this company is. Save yourself time, money and grief, do not deal with them or their parent company Simply Green.I am under an AC rental contract with Sandpiper and my AC broke. I have now called 17 times since May 31st to have my AC repaired. It is now July 5th, we are in a heat wave and my rental AC is still not repaired.Their management told me that I ONLY have two choices:1. either sign a new contract for $100 per month; or2. they will cancel my contract because the repair will cost the Sandpiper too much money.Basically, their manager told me that they would unilaterally cancel my contract because it was not advantageous to them to repair the AC unit. The primary reason why I am renting is for the repairs. If I would have known about their horrible service, I would have bought one and used a local repair guy to fix it if it broke. Instead, I am paying top dollar to rent under a contract that they do not comply with. If you ever tried to cancel the contract with them, they will charge you a ransom or put a lien on your home.I was forced to contacte their legal department, as they are the only ones that appear to understand contract law and Ontario consumer protection laws.Day 36, company still charging me monthly and the repair still is not done.

I couldn't figure out why my gas water heater wasn't working so I called Sandpiper and they sent out the loveliest tech who worked very hard to discover my issue - An incredibly huge amount of bird nesting material in my pipes & duct. The tech literally pulled TWO BUCKETS of debris out. It was hard work and the tech was still polite as ever throughout the entire ordeal. Whatever you're paying your techs, please give this guy a raise!
