Hastings House Country House Hotel

The rooms and decorations are very cozy, with each family having their own small villa, providing a private atmosphere. The hotel's courtyard, located by the seaside, offers breathtaking views. The hotel also boasts a top-notch restaurant that serves delicious cuisine. Additionally, there is an option to hire a private driver at the hotel to explore Salt Spring Island.

I was so lucky to have been invited for a two night stay at the charming Hastings House. The moment I set foot on the beautiful grounds, I felt serene and comfortable. Each room is unique and personalized with our name at our door. As well, it was so inviting to be greeted by fresh flowers in the room and an adorable homemade sheep on the night table. We enjoyed walking the beautiful grounds, enjoying views of the calming ocean, as well as exploring the farm, feeding the sheep, and even tasting a cherry tomato and strawberry from the greenhouse.Although we fully enjoyed the filling daily breakfast at the Manor, we were more charmed by the simple but delicious fresh baked warm muffins outside the door every morning (yes, a different flavour each day) - such a personal touch.As well, I cannot say enough good things about the wonderful and warm staff at Hastings House. In particular, Alan the general manager was very hospitable and inviting, as well as generous and helpful. You can see that he truly cares about his guests.Finally, the location is truly ideal. It’s a short walking distance into town, and very close to the ferry harbour. I cannot stop raving about how truly memorable and unforgettable my stay was. I’m thankful to have had this experience.Everyone should have this incredible experience!

We had dinner here one night and it was really beautiful. We sat outside for a drink and enjoyed the landscaping and views of the harbor. Then we went inside the dining room to eat and sat by beautiful doors that were cracked open. We felt very pampered by the waiter and enjoyed the two dishes we tried. It’s splurgy but if you’re looking for a special meal/experience it’s totally worth it.

The GM’s reply below confirms how mismanaged this hotel is. Why give me a fictitious name and imply that a discount was given when you were absent during my whole stay. My voicemail message to your office expressing disappointment was never returned.The property is exceptionally beautiful. However the service is far below the standard expected of a Relais Chateau. Perhaps the most disconcerting fact was that it appeared that all of management was on vacation at the same time leaving no one competent enough to address our concerns in a timely manner.

This property is far from the humdrum of bustling city life , yet there are plenty of outdoor pursuits to be enjoyed that are close to it. We were there in April to celebrate our wedding anniversary and I cannot praise this idyllic retreat highly enough! This place has beautiful settings and lovely views from the Farm West suites where we stayed. The staff had arranged for a special table for our anniversary dinner and the culinary experience was memorable. This property is ideal for those looking for peace. I loved the cozy suite with its floral prints and wooden furniture. It was open and airy and had a rustic and whimsical look. Fresh muffins were delivered to the door every morning. I liked the selection of teas in our room. Everything was extremely pleasing, including the attentive service.

The property is stunning, like being in the English countryside. The suite we stayed in was a good size with a fireplace as you certainly need it in springtime. The staff go above and beyond for service and I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to indulge themselves in a resort that offers everything you need. Don't forget to use the spa services...I had the best massage by Tess!

The restaurant is amazing. The food was delicious. The service was excellent. I had the leek soup, scallop salad and tenderloin. It was so good combined with the amazing sunset view and the lovely couples we were dining with…it was another unforgettable meal in Canada.Unfortunately, our lodgings were significantly lower that the standards we are accustomed to a a Raleix Chateau property. Our room was on the second floor and we had to carry all of our bags up the stairs. Then our room was full of feathers, which we are allergic to and to top it off the room smelt of mildew so after locking all of the pillows in the bathroom we were still sneezing all night from the moldy mildew smell from the sink next to the bed.It looks beautiful in the photos and we were told by other couples that the quality of the service has severely declined. Hopefully the chef will buy the property and bring the property back to its former glory.

We stayed for two nights in June. We were in Hawthorne." Loved the bath tub and our bed was so comfortable. Breakfasts were a great bonus and the grounds were beautiful. We saw quails

We recently had dinner in the restaurant which has lovely views over the harbour and gardens which looked stunning in the evening light. The food was delicious and the service absolutely on point. I had oysters and the Sunday Special of rib roast and Yorkshire pudding which was exceptional. They also feature wine from a local vineyard. Just one request on behalf of us oldies - a handrail in some places along the path to the dining room would be very helpful (although I appreciate there is a short cut through a back door to the car park).

Eating here was amazing. We had a beautiful view of the ocean, and the food was excellent. This is a must try place if you are on Salt Spring Islands.
