Burnaby locationI took my Driving test there today and failed do to the instructor asked me to do a 360 on a Residential area so I did a 360 check and the instructor said no a 360 turn where he want me to turn around where there was a round about a1/2 a block away. Then he wanted me to turn right and there was a car going straight knowing the car that was going straight had a stop sign but the car was already going through the stop sign and half way in the intersection so I stop as I didn’t feel that it was safe for me to turn right as if I did proceed to turn the car would have crash into me. The instructor failed me on that. But right from the start of my test the instructor asked me if I had a dash camera I let him know that I didn’t that is why he did these things so he would not be caught and failed me do to I was cautious and was driving safe. I don’t recommend and one to take you test at the Burnaby one.

I was lucky enough to have Hiro as my examiner for my class 7 and he was the best! He was friendly and very easygoing. It was really nice to chat with him during the test as it really helped calm me down and feel comfortable. Thank you so much for your help Hiro! :D

It was great. driver license renewal was quick. If it wasn't the printer was not working, it was less than 20 mins in and out.No appointment was made.

Passed my road test! Everyone was so nice. My examiner (I don't know his name but he was Asian and it might have started with a V?) was very helpful and made everything a lot more comfortable! He was very kind. Tips for anyone doing a road test: There are lots of videos on YouTube from driving instructors giving tips for shoulder checking, how to park, etc. so those are very helpful to brush up on! Drive a lot and you will be fine. Make sure to shoulder check! Thanks ICBC Burnaby!

Terrible centre to take driving test!! I would not suggest anyone if your driving test specially with SIMON(Very picky) !!! No matter how better you do or how experience you are. I did three tests. First 2 they made me fail for just reverse parking. Second time I felt that i shouldn't have given fail ...I spoke to supervisor he told me just focus on reverse parking. Okay I did and came back for the 3rd test. Now what? Everything was right but examiner felt I was driving slowly also I did hit the curb gently while pull over then he made me do it twice (perfect everytime)!!! I spoke to supervisor he said going 53kph is acceptable … then how it's not acceptable being on somewhere between 45-49kph? He mentioned 40kph instead of 50kph it is never possible (I am not yet that kind of driver who would be able to drive at fixed speed ..... of course my speed was fluctuating but never went over the speed limit or driving too slow. My examiner also expected me to drive fast at the parking lot!! also people were crossing the road and they haven't even crossed halfway he was saying why don't you go.......seriously should I not let the people go first?? I just spoke to my friend he said SIMON failed someone going on 53kph. I feel horrible that it happened twice with me. It was totally SHOCKING!!!UNFAIR!!

Terrible road test experience. Examiner failed me with a quite unfair reason. I tried to talk to the supervisor, he told me if I wanted to do the appeal in the head office, the head office would send it back to them. Appeal would not change anything. What a reasonable and lovely responses! Is this the way how ICBC treat our citizens?

I don’t understand how someone can fail a person over shoulder checks. My sister went here for her class 7 road test and failed over apparently “no right shoulder checks and 360 observations.” She did do these observations when the examiner say she didn’t. When it’s only him and her inside the car it ends with the battle of who is right. Honestly, reading these reviews with many bad than good I think you should really understand that your examiners need more training. You can’t fail or state that someone did no shoulder checks or 360 checks that’s a big statement. The word NO is just a lie because she said she did but how can she prove that with no video recording allowed. Also I don’t believe you should fail for something so minor especially if he stated that she was a “good driver with good observations.” The fact that you are failing someone due to the lack of the observations is something another person should not be able to judge. Him saying that she lacked in this category is appalling and annoying. I hope you are able to improve your service.

DO NOT TAKE A ROAD TEST HERE. This location has a reason for having lots of time slots available for road test booking, comparing to other ICBC locations. This place has one of the worst test routes in Vancouver. Lots of construction being done around this area & lots of traffic & lots of signs (HOV lane, Bus lane, etc) -> Instructor fails you by not giving you enough instruction, intentionally giving you a chance to violate rules. Failure rate is really high. Me & my friends did road test here multiple times and nobody passed. If your driving instructor recommends this place, DO NOT believe the instructor & change the instructor because he is trying to make you fail so that he earns more money from doing more lessons.

Doug is the best motorcycle skills test instructor. He gave me the confidence I needed by being really polite. I went to Surrey to do my skills test prior, and the guy there I’m pretty sure his name was Chris. He was really rude. Thanks again Doug hope you get a raise.Armaan

I am writing to express my deep disappointment and concern regarding the unprofessional conduct displayed by your employee, John, during my mother's ID renewal appointment at your facility on June 19th. It is imperative that I bring this matter to your attention so that appropriate measures can be taken to address the issues and ensure that other customers do not have to endure a similar experience in the future.John's demeanor was immediately aggressive and condescending, creating an uncomfortable and distressing environment. Despite my attempts to provide translation assistance for my mother, he persisted in interrogating us without empathy or professionalism.Throughout the interaction, John's behavior was consistently unhelpful and disrespectful. He reprimanded me for a simple oversight, displayed a complete lack of understanding, and continued to question us loudly, causing considerable embarrassment. His persistent aggression escalated to the point of accusing my mother of withholding information and deliberately violating regulations, despite our explanations and sincere attempts to comply.This encounter with John was deeply affecting and showcased a severe lack of professionalism. As a customer, I expected to be treated with respect and courtesy, regardless of any language barriers or misunderstandings. It is disheartening to witness an employee of your organization engaging in such behavior, which not only reflects poorly on your facility but also causes distress and undermines trust in your services.I kindly request that immediate action be taken to address John's conduct. It is essential to conduct an investigation into this incident and to provide him with appropriate retraining regarding customer service, cultural sensitivity, and conflict resolution. Additionally, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where employees feel comfortable seeking guidance and are held accountable for their actions is crucial, as this is a government job.
