Thunder Oak Cheese Farm

I have always liked their cheese products made on site. Lately, however, their cheeses are very dry and their quark tastes bitter. I have discontinued to buy their products and feel I am better off buying from the big stores in town. This is a pity, since I'd love to promote local businesses but not if they compromise with quality.

Simple shop connected to the cheese storage facility. Gouda in a wide variety of flavors and sizes. Store also has a variety of Dutch treats and local foods like honey, sausages and fudge. While brochure promised tasting availability it is cancelled during COVID-19…

I had heard that they had good cheese and had checked out their flyer that told of the cheese they make. Gouda is one of my favourites, and I came home with lots of it. It is located in a beautiful area of Ontario and worth the drive to see and enjoy the food they have.

Some of the best Gouda made in Canada. We have it all the time. Great shop with viewing of the cheese making process friendly family farm.

It's amazing this kind of farm, you can find all types of cheese there and Mon, Wed and Friday you can take a tour inside and see how they make the cheese. We always try to support local farms and this one is unbelievable, truly recommend is you are coming to thunder bay or if you are living here you have to come and see this wonderful place ps: service is fantastic

Buy local!!! A huge variety of different flavours of locally made Gouda, all available to sample before you buy! Really different seasonings, some we'd never have thought of for a cheese! Prices are very reasonable. A selection of different types of fresh cheese curds and home made bakery items are available. There's also an assortment of imported Dutch food items including the mighty stroopwaffle - they even have some that are gluten free if that's your thing!

We were recommended to visit Thunder Oak Cheese Farm by some friends when planning our trip to Thunder Bay, and we're blown away!!The family owned farm specializes in Gouda. A particular standout is their Gouda cheese curds, which can be tried at several restaurants around the region, or bought in a bag at the store. We got a bag of Garlic curds and snacked on them over a few days. I'm presently trying to find out if I can ship more home to Toronto!There are a variety of flavors and ages of Gouda for you to choose from in the shop! We were also pleasantly surprised that there was a sampler box to pick up with pre-cut cubes of a variety of their cheeses!They carry products inside from several other local business including coffee beans, candy, dried meat and more!Well worth going out of your way for, and a MUST GO for any cheese enthusiast!
