The Greenery Garden Centre

I purchased two plants at The Greenery this season - a hibiscus plant and a banana palm plant. After a few weeks I noticed the leaves turning yellow and upon closer inspection, the leaves were CRAWLING with hundreds and hundreds of spider mites. These mites have now spread to my other plants so I have cut off the infected leaves and began treating them. These are plants I've had for years and it's devastating. I emailed The Greenery but have not yet received a response. I think it is so careless to sell plants that are riddled with pests and people are going to bring into their homes which is going to put their other plants at risk. I thought The Greenery was more reputable than this but I guess not. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement.

I recently sent my mom a GC from here for Mothers Day. She was THRILLED as shes a wicked amazing green thumb & SUPER thrifty. (Ive found its expensive there but I thought I would treat her) Just today she brought in her 2 plants which are starting to turn brown & they were very rude to her & said absolutely no, she can not exchange them. This is the 2nd time I have sent her a GC for here & certainly the last. There are alot more green houses around Kelowna to support. Alot of greenhouses will trade in the problem plant for a new one. Cant see a big problem with doing that, can you?

I LOVE The Greenery! I discovered them 4 summers ago but at the time, they'd just closed a week earlier.. so been going now 3yrs. I've been to most Nurseries in the Okanagan & this is By FAR my Favourite! Incredible staff, Incredible plants! The plants, holy moly what a selection! If you're a cactus/succulent kinda person, this is your store! Fruits, veggies, annuals, perennials, trees, soil, everything & anything gardening & at amazing prices. I've been several times a season now for 3yrs, my Favourite!!

If you love plants, this is the place that will make you feel like a kid in a candy store. It’s amazing!! You can find SO many variety of plants here and the price is very reasonable! I would say it has the best price in Kelowna. Last trip here I got several plants but couldn’t find Thai chillies, but no worries, I’ll definitely come back.

Unfortunately I am going to have to update my review as of 03/22/23:I love the plants and the selection at The Greenery, but both times I have gone, I have brought home plants with mealybugs.I went two seasons ago (I was a bit more novice back then and didn't think to look at the plants after the fact), and did not have mealybugs at all before then. I then discovered a few months later numerous plants that were completely infested... Those ones were lost, and the bugs had already spread all around. I have since been dealing with treating my plants and losing numerous others to the mealybugs I brought home from The Greenery nearly two years ago.I went again a few weeks ago, as it had been a couple years and I really like their selection... Was inspecting my new plants the next day (pulling out dead leaves, etc.), and discovered two I had just bought had mealybugs (they weren't from my current collection as they hadn't been integrated yet... They also wouldn't show up on a new plant within two days, anyways).I have bought numerous plants from Art Knapp and some from Better Earth Gardens, and I have never brought home bugs from those places... I know this for a fact as I have since thoroughly inspected plants for signs of mealybugs within a few days of bringing them home since discovering my original infestation.It's really unfortunate, but I am personally going to have to cross The Greenery off of my list, as their product can't be trusted. I get that bugs come with plants, but infestations like this? No quality control whatsoever... Really disappointing.ORIGINAL:Omg the coolest plant place in town... So huge and so much selection of succulents and tropicals I have never seen at other nurseries... Could hardly resist emptying my entire bank account!

All the herbs I wanted and also every basket flower and bedding plant my mom wanted for her gardens in one stop. Great selection of Lantana and hibiscus. Can't complain about too much selsction. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable.

Probably the most popular nursery in the central Okanagan at this time of year. Huge selection and throngs of eager gardeners.

The place is chock full of every plant you can imagine. Try and be there during the week or early on the weekends, it gets really busy.
