Kawartha Lakes Taxi - Servicing Lindsay

Driver ran a red light and almost hit my son and grandson. When my Son confronted driver he simply said “sorry I wasn’t paying attention”. Son called company to let them know and was told “we are not friends with our drivers. This will be dealt with”. DRIVER IS STILL DRIVING WITH THEM!!! He ran a red light and is STILL with the Company!!! Never use them!

Great people helped find my wallet when they didn't have to and there prices were good. Thanks a million guys.

Took a taxi this morning, the driver was smoking the whole time in the vehicle. Personally I do not smoke and found it very unprofessional. Meanwhile he was making rude comments about someone who was in the process of being taken away in an ambulance. Would not recommend using this company.

Drivers:I have no quarrels regarding the professionalism of any of the drivers at Kawartha Lakes Taxi. Through 2+ years of turning to them for their services, they are all extremely friendly and conversations are always positive and engaging. The star rating provided does not in any way represent my experiences as a passenger of the Kawartha Lakes Taxi drivers. I would put them 4 or 5 stars out of 5.Dispatchers:I am not at all impressed with the amount, or lack there of, of professionalism by the dispatchers.On one occasion, I had called a little over 30 minutes ahead to book a taxi near Lindsay Square Mall. The dispatcher on the phone gave me a time to expect a taxi to arrive that was reasonable (within 30-35 minutes from the time I called) which was perfect. Unfortunately, there was a large lineup at the grocery store which I was at that lead to me not being outside ready for pickup at the given time (I was about 9 minutes late getting out from the grocery store). From the 30 to roughly the 35 minute mark, I was in the lineup frequently checking my phone for calls. As I walked out of the grocery store, I checked my phone and saw that I had a missed call from Kawartha Lakes Taxi of about 2 minutes (7 minutes later than the expected arrival time of the taxi). I first scanned for a taxi and there didn’t seem to be any. So I called back and the same dispatcher as before was on the phone. She explained that there had been a taxi there twice over the past 14 minutes or so. At this point I was frustrated but decided to keep calm. I explained how I was caught in a lineup at the grocery store checkout. She then said that she recalled me saying that we had previously discussed that the grocery store was busy, and that she’d send a taxi right away now that she knew I was ready.28 minutes later, the same taxi driver returns for apparently the third time. I got in and explained how I was surprised that the dispatcher had not tried to call me before he had left the first time. He was under the impression that the dispatcher had tried to call before the 30 minute mark and that I should check and see if the dispatcher had done so in case the lack of cell service within the grocery store had anything to do with it. Once finished the trip and had better cell service, I opened my call history to see if perhaps the dispatcher had taken the initiative and care to call and let me know that the taxi was waiting for me in case I was running late. Surprise surprise, there was no call previous to the one I received after the taxi had already left.

Round trip price was agreed upon weeks previous. Was informed days before event that price would increase due to increase in fuel costs. Fair. Before being picked up at out of town venue, was informed that cost would be an extra $75 because the dispatcher did not fully understand the situation. I had no choice but to agree or be stranded.Could have used another company for $50 less, or Y-drive for $100 less in total.Would not recommend this lying, cheating cab company. Very unprofessional dispatcher, and not a reputable company.

Parked right infront of food basics out doors, making every other customer walk around your van. Ridiculous.

I got to point B the driver seemed nice and the vehicle was clean. I paid 55 to drive 15 mins that was interesting lol I guess everything has gone up these days!!

Called 45 minutes in advance for an 11:30am pickup. Told them I was going to the vet clinic a few blocks from the pick up location. The driver was 5 minutes late, so I called. Was told the driver was on the way. 10 minutes later they called to tell me they went to the wrong address. No sweat, it's a simple mistake. We wait another 10 minutes for them to pick us up only to be told by the driver that he is allergic to cats and won't let us in the cab. Needless to say we ended up walking, rather then wait for another cab.

I've never left a bad review but I had to say something today. On Friday one of their drivers flew through a red light while my wife was driving with myself and my child in the truck. I called and spoke with a manager and she reassured me something would be done. I continue to see this driver so that means nothing was done. Wouldn't recommend calling kawartha unless you want to be in fear while being driven around.

They have really nice drivers; but we waited for 45 minutes when the said that they would be right there. Called a different cab company and they arrived eight minutes after being called. Usually I have great luck with this company but lately they've been slacking.
