Did not actually take the ferry as we arrived just after it left and due to the season we would be waiting 50min for the next sailing. Wanted to share the picture of the sign with sailing information for others. Nice that it is free.

There is no charge for this ferry service and it is a worthwhile experience. The ferry staff were friendly and knowledgable about the area. It is a lovely nice new cable ferry. Be aware that the ferry runs on the half hour, leaving the eastern side on the hour and the western side half hour. It is a good idea to check to be sure the ferry is operating, so check before you start down the road to the ferry (There is a sign saying if the ferry is not operating).

We stumbled upon this ferry by accident travelling through the area and really loved it. Great ferry, professional staff, and really friendly to uneducated tourists like ourselves. They helped us to find everything we were looking for. We found the geocaches that were there, and appreciated the portable toilet on the one side as well. It was during the COVID-19 pandemic that we crossed and at that time, they weren’t accepting any cash, so the ride was free. However, the regular $7.00 fee would have been very reasonable anyhow. I’m sure it takes a lot to maintain this ferry.

Had a great experience taking this ferry on a foggy morning. The captain was super friendly and helpful.
