Our family has been using Community Plus care for several months.Fast and responsive service, great caring staff who are paid a living wage. So happy with all aspects. A very good company. Recommended!

Mom enjoys the weekly visits for assistance with bathing and the time she spends with her worker. We've been with Community Plus for more than six months and all has gone smoothly. Having the same worker each week is appreciated by mom. Setting up the assistance was fast and easy and Matthew's description of the services his workers provide was complete and accurate. I think the older you are and the longer you have been together as a spouse and a caregiver the harder it is to turn that care over to a professional. My initial interview with Matthew at Community Plus to provide care for my husband was made easy, comfortable, natural, and empathic and I was ready to start the first step. The choices made in our case suited everyone involved from the start and developed into friendships and mutual understandings. I highly recommend the whole Community Plus team for their friendly and professional support, for making us feel part of their family and secure in the knowledge that they could help us handle anything.. Had wonderful service from this company. Able to set up nurses visits very quickly and the nurse was excellent, punctual, knowledgeable and very patient and kind. I highly recommend this company for their quality of service and quality of employees.

I was in a very very tough spot at 10pm at night and then I googledthe best emergency seniors care facility" and I was led to community Plus. On the other end of the line was the kindest most caring voice who showed such genuine concern for me and my 93 year old mom. I was in a bind and needed urgent care for my mom the next morning. Matthew worked on my behalf late at night to find a caregiver for my mom that next morning. The caregiver was the best as well.....punctual sweet kind caring and very smart.The care love and support I received from Community Plus was the best I could possibly get. They are personal and compassionate. And i felt completely at ease leaving my mom with their caregiver.This all goes back to Matthew who leads his company with such profound care and genuine concern for the elders in our community. My sister and I, both in Ottawa at the time, rang Matthew of Community Plus in January of 2022, asking if he would meet our 89-year-old mother, living alone in Victoria, and assess her for care. He made the visit, was roped into doing some handiwork for our mom (!), and reported back to us swiftly and with very useful insight. We agreed with him that she needed help – she was increasingly physically compromised and losing mental acuity – but she refused the suggestion, outright. We countered, she was defensive, and, repeatedly, changed the subject or hung up the phone.She had been supremely independent and capable and was offended by what seemed to her our interference. Which we both understood.We stumbled along, remotely, as best we could, until late May when the one caregiver she allowed in her life got COVID. . Suddenly my mother, who could no longer drive, wasn’t able to get groceries, and was living, isolated, in an increasingly dirty and cluttered apartment. My sister and I were thousands of miles away, desperate to arrange help, either through friends, friends of friends or neighbours. Nothing was sustainable and I cannot tell you the enormous joy and relief I felt when, writing to Matthew on a Monday, he assured us my mother would have help on Wednesday. And three times a week thereafter.Community Plus has been making our mother’s life better for the six months since then. When she declined even further, and needed daily help, they responded immediately. Every one of the caregivers has been efficient, kind and respectful. Their house work is of a very high quality and they know that chatting to our mother is part of the job. For her part, my mother has said they are ‘all beautiful people’ and she looks forward to their visits. One of the caregivers decided, on her own initiative, to start cooking for my mother, making lunch and leaving dinner in the fridge, while another dressed a wound on her leg, rubbing her with lotion and putting on a bandage.We are so appreciative.Matthew and his team (shout out to the lovely Holly in reception, organised and empathetic) respond swiftly to questions, have extremely useful insight and advice and are, even more importantly, kind-hearted people.We simply could not have managed the past six months without them.I highly recommend their service.

I enjoyed working for this company, but was sorely disappointed when I was let go without any communication from Matthew about this. I came back from a vacation to discover that I had no more shifts booked!! When I enquired, several times, and asked to hear from him, it never happened. I know my absenteeism due to illness was an issue, but it's illegal to fire someone for this reason, especially someone with a disability, but this is what happened even though the quality of my work was not an issue. Sad!

Matthew is a super caring, helpful business owner with a lot of knowledge of seniors processes. Rates are good too. No 2 hr minimums. We, and our dad, will be continuing to use Community plus.

Community Plus is an excellent home care service. They responded quickly to the changing needs of our very elderly family member. The staff were conscientious, kind, and very patient- centered. Our family member was not easy to handle, so we appreciated the efforts of staff to keep her in her own home as long as possible.
