A wonderful little gallery in Halifax's downtown. Don't let the the small footprint turn you away - there's always something to see. A nicely curated collection of art, largely by relatively local artists. Primarily paintings, but always with other works (ceramics, mixed media, etc.).

Lovely art store with lots of art from local artists. Changing selection at the big bay windows that face Barrington Street. Two floors of unique products ranging from paintings, to sculptures, to pins. There are also two floors worth of art to check out. Friendly service.

Completely accessible to all, this gallery excels at creating a vibe that isn't stuffy, you don't need to have a fine art degree to appreciate or enjoy it. Ask a lot of questions - don't be shy. And don't miss the downstairs. Fun theme exhibitions and worth following their FB page or website for openings, events and new exhibitions. There is something here almost anyone can afford from small art prints and humourous cards to tiny felt sculptures or handcrafted jewellery. The ever popular Pre-Shrunk show provides access to buy very high quality original art miniature paintings. Or sign up for the subscription service to receive 6 months or 1 year monthly signed art prints. More than your typical gallery, this is a place to visit whenever you're downtown because it's fun and beautiful and an excellent destination for unique gifts and cards as well as fine original art and art prints.

Truly one of the most fun and innovative galleries I've ever seen. There's always something fun going on at Argyle, and interspersed with the support for emerging artists and fun themes, there is so much interesting, accessible art! There's no excuse for not being surrounded by beauty with Argyyle in town. You can get everything from art cards to sculptures made of old shoes to miniature perfect bagpipes to wall-size paintings that stop you in your tracks. I always stop in when I'm in the city and my walls are getting full of must-haves. Don't want to buy? You are also welcome to go in and look anytime. Friendly people, accessible art - what's not to love?

This place is amazing. The art is so unique and beautiful. You can just walk around and enjoy the work. The staff are Great and very knowledgeable about the pieces.
