Bow River Chem-Dry

I had this company in a couple years ago and i'm still angry. I was recently going through some files and came across the receipt, which got me all fired up again, so I figured I would write a review as a warning to others.I had asked beforehand what kind of pricing I could expect, and was told it should be roughly $200 to $250. I figured that wasn't too bad, even $300 I could handle because I realized that the price may be slightly higher depending if my rooms were larger than average. I had expected to go over every everything and receive a quote before the job began, but before I knew it he was already busy working. Guy came in and spent about an hour working on the carpet. I was surprised/happy how fast it all went, until I went to pay. It was more than double what I was expecting, and not one of the stains I had, got removed. All of my baseboards needed to be re-painted because he scratched them all up so badly. Nearly $600 for 3 rooms and my stairs. I am still in shock after all this time.REPLY:Invoice # 57527As I said, I had expected for a slight difference in price from what I had been told via e-mail, but certainly not more than double. I was not provided any sort of an estimate before the work began, and I assumed that was because of the info that was already provided via e-mail. If I had received that estimate when the tech was here, I would have sent him away because the price was ridiculous. I do not feel that it is late to post this because no matter how long ago, it still happened, and I'm still upset. And after reading reviews in a couple different places, it appears that this bait and switch is a common theme.I wish I had called 2 years ago, or at least written a review then, but I was so upset at the time, I just wanted to forget.I am not interested in calling you as you have already indicated that I am too late in posting my comment. I also do not intend to upset or offend anyone with my review. This is just an honest review of the service.

I was very impressed with the results! Jordan Wurtz came on time and did very thorough effecent job. He was in and out within an hour. He was very professional with how he explained the process. Our carpets look and smell great. We will be recommending Bow River Chem-Dry to friends and family!

Update:Mike the owner contacted me regarding this & offered to reclean/refund whichever I preferred.. great to see owners care about their customers added couple more stars for customer service. #Supportlocalbusiness----Wouldn't recommend the their services, they sent a nice person with a cool personality but the work was soo poor!Carpets didn't really look that great after, but the worse was what I found later once it was dry! Burnt carpet & all the dirt from the carpet ended up all over my wall & baseboards, didn't really appreciate that!! What a mess..

I had Chem-Dry come out last week to do my carpets that were 5 years old, lots of stains from coffee and tea, some wine and then pet stains. There is probably some sort of pet stain on every square inch of the carpet in my house but you know what the owner Mike came and cleaned it himself and did a spectacular job. All the stains were gone and the carpets in the closet and the spare room looked brand new again. Mike was friendly and professional and I would never hesitate to call them again. I had a friend recommend Chem-dry to me so I didn't even get another quote as I trusted my friend and I am glad I did as they pulled through and didn't disappoint. I will use them again in the future and I will recommend them to anyone I know.

I had originally left a 3 star review. But was contacted promptly by Mike the owner to see what happened. After letting him know that I didn't feel that the quality of the carpet cleaning was what I expected he asked if I was willing to let him fix the issue. I agreed and within 2 days Mike came out personally and cleaned the carpets again at no cost and to my expectations. I don't expect perfection but any company who takes complaints this seriously and works to resolve issues when they arise is one I would gladly use again.

James came and did a move-out carpet clean for my Mom’s condo. The job was great, but more importantly I was treated like I was a valued client. This made all the difference when dealing with the move. Thanks to James, and for all you did to help with the transition.

Steve not only did a great job, but it was done very quickly. Very clear quote process and much more convenient than traditional steam cleaning.

As far as the customer service is concerned they get 5/5. Great people, great management, nice technitions. But I am not convinced the technique used by chemdry is good. They cleaned my carpets twice in a 2 week period because I wasnt happy the first time (which I appreciate), but my carpet is still dirty. So unfortunately I wish the people and service matched the outcome of the carpets.I have learned that high alkaline hot water is the best with a rotary method. This agitates the carpet and cleans it the best. Just incase you wanted to know.

I own a small flooring company so I know what to look for in the service we paid for. The website is totally misleading, this is not a professionally run company for a number of reasons. I'm pretty sure the work is subcontracted out because neither the company or the guy who came really cared about us being happy ... it was get in / get out attitude. We had to have the carpet cleaned twice, it was very awkward for my wife as she specifically asked for a different person because the person they sent out was disorganized and turned up when he wanted rather than when we had booked on both occasions.

We used Chem Dry several times in 2017. Our first experience in January, we had spilled a huge jug of very strong black tea up the pale grey carpeted stairs. They came out a few hours later and Colin Hiller did a superb job. Extremely hard working, could not have tried harder on some other stains we had too. A few days later based on his performance we had them come in to do additional work. This was with another person and the work was ho-hum, did not try that hard with some other stains so we were a little disappointed.However early in February we had Grant Pawluk come to tint/dye some white spots on our very new grey carpet that had been damaged when some window installers had worked in the room.WOW. He did a superb job in restoring the color so that you could not tell the carpet had ever been damaged. Amazing job. We were absolutely thrilled. There are not many people can do this work, we felt so lucky that we had been able to use his talents....THANKS !!
