I bought the Birkdale home on April 2016. The house was completed November 2016 even though they had a one month strike going on. Extremely fast builders with amazing customer service. Highly satisfied with their interior decor appointment. I went mostly with all basic finishes with the help of the interior decor lady picking every single combination and theme for my home. She was very patient and helpful. I would highly recommend this builder to anyone

At the end of the day, you need to realize that John Boddy is not a “boutique” or “custom” home builder. They are a homegrown business of Durham, and a mass-home builder that offers a quality product that is comparable to the area around us. When comparing other builders, John Boddy was a steal for pricing, location, and sizes of homes (particularly towns). We are thrilled with our home, and have appreciated the responsiveness of Chris, Cynthia, and the after-sales team in assisting us with any concerns. They also really hold up their end of the bargain, and more, with regards to warranty issues at the 30 day, 1 year, and 2 year marks. Really pleased with our home!

Had a horrible experience buying a home. From a boutique high quality builder you'd expect so much more customer service. Jordan was the sales rep we dealt with ... very sarcastic and rude human being. Felt that I was being mistreated for my race. I'm not sure how these people got jobs here. They also refused to give me the head office number. With so many other home builders out there you guys are better off going to someone who will treat you with respect.To higher management : Jordan is not suitable for this job... at all !

I have no complaints at all. In fact, the service team specially Chris has been wonderful in going above and beyond my expectations for my 30 days and 1 year list.

We recently purchased a house with Joh Boddy and I was misinformed by our sales representative. I ensured I asked that we will be receiving oak hardwood as per the description however now that we are in the process of picking our interior decor, they have changed it to engineered flooring. Please ensure that you work with Cynthia as she is more knowledgeable. The decor centre staff was also very helpful. All other staff will either provide incorrect information or will tell you that they will need to get back to you.

Best experience I've have had purchasing a new home by far.professional and knowledgable sales reps.The quality of their homes surpassed my expectations. I wish I found this builder sooner so I could have saved myself a lot of time, effort, and headaches.Love the location - close to the lakeOverall couldn't be happier with our home.

DON'T BE FOOLED!! John Boddy had a great reputation in the 90s and 2000s. My friend purchased a home in Nov 2020 which had many issues and their site supervisor used humidity and covid as a reason for everything. The outside looked beautiful but inside had over 50 issues. Before you purchase with these guys, take the time to knock on a few door and talk to the most recent home owners and get their feedback. Knock on any home from 2-30 Sharplin Dr.

I gave you guys 2 stars because your house prices sky rocketing not thinking how young familes could afford to buy a family home ...I hope you guys know what I am talking about.......

PLEASE BUYERS BEWARE OF THIS BUILDER!!!I would give a ZERO to John Boddy Homes if I had that option.Very poor quality job done inside and outside the house. I wouldn't recommend the builder to anyone. My house is less than 1 year old but we have had so many problems in this kind of brand new house.In the last windstorm that happened few months ago , almost all the houses on my street including mine had shingles ripped off. Few days later when it rained my bedroom roof started dripping water. The sad part is that the houses in the area built by other developpers didn't have the same issue. One of the houses contacted John Boddy Home and was told that its not the quality of shingles but the Wind, they wouldn't accept the fact that it happened to soo many houses in the street means they did a very poor job and they using the cheapest material on the market for every single corner of the house.Poor workmanship, poor material , poor customer service .Their service manager came to fix the small things multiple times and still cannot fix . I am even doubted if they are professional in their and know what they are doing.Walls are uneven, windows not sealed, stairs are rough with unnecessary straight cuts in the wood that show and is not evening being fixed. Stair stain doesn't even match, you can see they only did maybe 1 coat.We have 4 cracks in the basement and water water leakage that still did not fixed.PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BUILDER, DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!

I loved all the work Karen did with helping me pick the decor. Everything looks beautiful!! It was a pleasure working with Karen, Jordan, Cynthia and now Chris. Also, the hardwood flooring is beautiful exactly what I envisioned. John Boddy has been great with helping with any concerns or adjustments that needed to be made. Happy first time home owners over here!
