Very nice place, the food was OK and nothing more, I expected more flavor, it's weird to say but in real authentic Caribbean food (and sometimes even much more cheaper places) the food was tastier and more look like the original food...Something that bothers me, and maybe people do that because of good service, is to bring a glass of drink (Canada-dry) with ice cubes and without the bottle or the can & I'm supposed to pay price higher than a can worth and get some small glass, I don't think that's fine.

We booked a table for 5 on Father’s Day. When we got there we were told it is a buffet. When we reserved we were not told it was a buffet. I clarified if there will be jerk chicken available and was told yes. We waited for about an hour before soup and salad were out. It was a boxed salad mix and the soup was average taste. The buffet line was slow, there wasn’t any jerk chicken and the steak was tough to cut. We did complain and were told because of the music festival in the weekend they were rushed off their feet. We asked for dessert and got pound cake and mango ice cream which was from Costco. We spoke to the owner Jerry and he said he would adjust the bill. We got one bill for $430. After he adjusted the bill the new bill was $410 as a $70 gratuity was added on. The service was terrible and it was a buffet. The owner promised to call us which he did but nothing had been rectified. Spending that money for the quality of food was very disappointing. We will not return.

An excellent experience if you're not in a hurry. This new restaurant delivers on the vision of an upscale take on West Indian cuisine that brings customers off the streets and away from the Styrofoam containers to enjoy delicious Caribbean fare. There is room for service improvements as you would expect for any new venture, but it is a new and refreshing addition to theMain Street, Markham landscape with the potential to have an epic patio and draw lots of walk-up customers. Creative events also provide an opportunity to indulge other tastes while enjoying the non-traditional Caribbean flare... maple jerk chicken wings anyone? How about some Cuban Jazz while sitting down to chicken breast stuffed with Jamaican callaloo? Let's go!

I wanted to really like this place as I did some research prior and it seemed right up my family and I's alley. Between the Caribbean cuisine and the live music. I also saw this as a great opportunity to support a fellow black-owned business. However I do not think I will be back.My family and I came today for a fathers day brunch. Prices were not advertised on the site for this particular event or in person. Not a big deal, given we all only had one or two plates of about 10 different meal items to choose from -All lunch items. The food was meh, not bad just meh-. Partially due to the fact that it was served cold. Not sure if the fire underneath wasn't lit but multiple people from my family also noted the same thing. The food always appeared to be running low as well. The only drinks included was water and Sorrel. Not much of a selection. I wish there was more of a selection as I personally do not like sorrel. When we asked for dessert, the server said that it wasn't included and that she only has 2 items on the menu. Ice cream or some cassava cake of some sorts. This was a shock to everyone as we imagined buffet style to be a 3 course meal as other places -which would have made sense. This was a huge disappointment. 2 people ended up ordering ice cream and it came out watery and melted.Heres what topped it off-When it came time to pay, I think everyone was stunned to see such a high bill. For my specific party of 3, for only lunch" was about $285+. So I can only imagine the groups with 5+ people. We ended up getting the wrong bill and ended up paying a bit less but for the 3 of us

It was my first time having Caribbean cuisine with a couple of my friends and it was an eye opener for all of us!Some of us don’t usually have spicy food but the hot sauce is truly amazing and we all asked for extra. The chef is wonderful and she makes lots of items (such as the sauce) from scratch. The place itself is a heritage building so it’s a very nice dining experience.Definitely recommend it!!

I went here for the first time. The food tasted amazing. The decor was classy. The restaurant is inside a historical home which gives it a nice cozy place to eat.The owners are super friendly. We got the liming platter to share. My favourite was the fritters with salt fish. It also came with jerk chicken wings, the taste was good, only complaint is the wings are small and a bit dry, a bit overdone. The service was friendly. My waitress was attentive and answered all questions with a lovely smile on her face. They have some pretty awesome drinks as well, alcoholic and non alcoholic cocktails. I got the Rasta pasta jerk chicken Alfredo, a very rich dish and spicy. I heard the jerk shrimp is a bit better, but I believe both dishes are comparable. The desserts are very good as well, bread pudding and cassava. Next time I would like to try the brandy cherry cheesecake. Definitely will come back here for another meal, not to say Wednesday's they offer a seafood platter to share for a discounted price.
