Route 42 Diner and Dairy Bar
Overpriced, tiny portions, and terrible service. Went in a group of 6 for lunch and it took about 15 minutes for someone to even come to the table after we were sat to greet us and offer a drink. The server also seemed lost and confused the whole time. When the meals came out we were all thoroughly disappointed. They were tiny and anyone that had cheese it wasn’t even warm yet alone melted like it should have been (I have attached a picture of the grilled cheese... if you can call it that, and the home fries had chunks that were literally the size of an entire potato. Also, many items were missed and we had to remind the server about them for them to be made and brought out. Can confidently say it is not worth the hype in the slightest.

No complaints here! Very family friendly environment and waitresses were readily available and attentive.Good portions were great and tasted lovely too!

I love the retro thing. They were short staffed when we visited, but the service was still outstanding and the food came out quickly. Our server was engaging and attentive. We've been before and will go again!

I will never be back. the worse food i ever had in a restaurant. I now know why there was no one there. chicken was awful the fries even worse. It won't be there long.

Great breakfast, friendly staff. Eggs were perfectly poached, hash browns well-seasoned. Staff was super nice and helpful to/with my kid.I just hope 3$ for a (bottomless) cup of coffee isn't the new standard. That's everywhere though.

Food was good waitress was very forgetful I literally had to get up to get a coffee refill. Also we ordered a milkshake and we were almost done our meal before it came out. To be fair they are usually very good there, we live up north and we visit family in Windsor and this place is usually our go to breakfast place.

I've gone to Route 42 for the mini donuts and shakes many times, and they're amazing. We went last weekend for breakfast for the first time. There was a line-up outside, but it moved quickly. The food was awesome, and our waitress was friendly and attentive. We will definitely go again.

50's style.Pros:Quick service.Amazing wait staff.Nice portion sizes.Everything tasted great.Covid precautions in place.Cons:No coffee refill. Just one cup to nurse for the meal.My wife got a Coke that seemed to taste like a flat Pepsi.Huge watermark on the ceiling, smelt musty in that corner.Over all route 42 is a nice little place. We have not had a bad experience yet. Sure there are some cons, but not everything can be perfect everytime. Good price, good food.

This diner is always good. They are lacking staff right now, so that is why the service was a bit slower than usual. Still a great place to get comfort food.
