San Remo Restaurant

About two months ago, we had a small family birthday dinner at San Remo. I remember this restaurant from years ago as a packed ,fun, vibrant place with music, Excellent food, serving staff who definitely knew what they were doing, in other words, a fantastic restaurant. Fast forward 10 years, and this place definitely is not what I remembered. Our server, while pleasant enough, had real difficulty with the English language. The drink orders were wrong, as in every drink that was brought to the table was wrong, ice in my drink when no ice was ordered, wrong size beer, a martini that was red (!?!) and on top of that it took almost 15 minutes to get the drinks. My entrée was lamb shanks, with Greek style potatoes, and a green salad with dressing on the side. The one lamb shank that I got was a small, tough, it honestly looked like it had been reheated from the day before. The potatoes were awful, mushy and swimming in a lemon butter sauce that absolutely overpowered everything on the plate, and the salad was literally out of a bag, right down to the dry carrot strips. I sampled my wife's roast chicken, dry as a bone, the nine dollar roasted Safeway chickens are a lot better than that. The meal was a huge disappointment all around, especially since I had hyped the place as being a great restaurant to eat in, I would definitely not recommend this restaurant.

Had the baked lasagna. Delicious and good portion.Other reviews have commented on poor service but I found our server pleasant and sufficiently attentive.Large space but manages to be cozy with an authentic Greek atmosphere.I also enjoyed the cucumber water which was very refreshing.

Best calamari I've ever had. Get the lamb burger for top value - it's huge and you get two sides! Their Greek fries have a nice herbal seasoning that puts a skin on the classic French fry. The lamb shank is fall off the bone delicious too. Four stars because they seemed understaffed and service was slow.

Ordered delivery and will never eat or order food from there again. Not only did the food take an hour and a half, it arrived cold, soggy and incomplete. For an order that was 92$ and some change, we didn't get any tzatziki sauce or sides for our pita and flat bread order, and our large Greek salad was forgotten". The food that did finally come came in very small portions for the price and was overall disappointing. After calling the restaurant and voicing concerns the manager was not only rude but took no accountability or responsibility for our complaint. Nothing was offered to help the situation in our favour for how dissatisfied we were from the whole experience. We felt very ripped off

I'm not sure why there is a lot of negative feedback for this place! This was our third time eating here and our pasta & pizza was delicious! We were so insanely full that we had to bring most of it home with us. The margaritas were tasty as well. Sure, the price tag might seem higher to some, but you get a HUGE portion of food. Also, my alfredo was homemade, thick and buttery with no shortage of chicken. The waiter was super nice and efficient for being understaffed.

Went on a Friday evening and got great service from the wait staff. Had the thin crust Greek pizza, and was honestly one of the best pizzas I've ever had haha. The interior aesthetic is great, and very comfortable. After seeing some of the other reviews here claiming that the wait staff would mess up orders, not serve drinks etc., and the kitchen staff might be microwaving/reheating food, I can assure you those reviews do not still stand as of my visit to the restaurant. Our waiter was polite, so much so that one of my friends said he might of been too nice (lol). The appetizers and entrees came out in a timely fashion. All meals, when served, were 100% accurate. I felt the quality of the food justified the prices, which were not unreasonably expensive anyway. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Just visited this place while we were on holidays it was recommended to us by a friend that used to live in the area and we were not disappointed. My partner and I both loved our food, I had the lamb burger and we shared the calamari they were delicious. We don't get calamari this good anywhere near here at all. And the lamb burger! Yum! I've never had lamb in a burger but the toppings were great. Our server made the whole experience, he made us feel very comfortable and had great recommendations for food were were very happy with our service. His name was Josh and he was just such a fun server to have, we are out quite a bit while visiting and he just really made this night out great! He also gave us lots of other local recommendations on places to visit. Thank you for a memorable evening of great service and food!

We waited an hour for our food with no explanation. Drinks and food orders were wrong. The pasta sauce for both orders was far too salty and one was inedible. Did not taste homemade. Disappointing. The servers are polite but very inexperienced and we were offered $4 off an inedible $20 meal. We won't be back. Points for friendliness and interesting space.

Our first experience will probably be our last!The staff was nice and food came out pretty fast. The food was good but expensive for what you got. I had the calamari dinner and it was supposed to be served on a bed of rice but if there was a quarter cup of rice under it I would have been surprised. I've been to lots of Greek restaurants and you always get more food then you can eat. So I was already not too impressed and then i went to the bathroom.... The back of the door and the edges of the floor haven't been cleaned in I don't know how long.... It was filthy!We won't be back for sure!

It's alright, had better souvlaki elsewhere. We got beef one and it was Very Dry and chewy. Calamari was great. Kids loved their chicken and pizza. Service was bad got drinks after meal.
