Advanced Basement Systems

I had radon levels over 300 Bq/m3 when allowable levels in Canada are under 200. Once the AC was turned on, the daily level hit over 600 Bq/m3. Mike Modde from Advanced Basements came by and did a quote for two different scenarios and then did a communication test which ended up confirming the less expensive scenario. Joel installed the mitigation system - drilling and installing the fan system. Both were professional, polite and on time. Joel did an excellent job installing the system - clean and neat looking. Within 24 hours radon levels dropped to 9-15 Bq/m3 depending on the floor. This was such a relief as radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer. I'm in Tecumseh Ontario so any home could have this gas and testing should be a priority. I would highly recommend Advanced Basement.

My experience with Advanced Basement Systems (ABS) from start to finish has been great. We had them fix some leaky cracks that had developed in our cold storage room walls and also had a new sump pump installed replacing the old ones. Chris Dauphin our inspector did a thorough job examining the cold storage walls and explained in detail the flexi-span crack technique which will be used to fix the cracks. He patiently went over all the questions I had on the job proposal, even making careful corrections to make sure it is thorough and described well the planned job. Justin and his installation team were professional and did a thorough job. I do not know how their pricing compares with competitors, I assume they would be all in the same range. ABS's long and successful presence in the London market and their professionalism which they displayed was my selling point. I would highly recommend this company.

I had a friend recommend to me that I check my home for Radon and my research lead me to Advanced Basement Systems. From my very first contact with this organization, through to the completion of the project, everyone with whom I dealt with, was courteous, prompt, knowledgeable and professional.My first contacts at Advanced Basement Systems were Danielle and Karen from the office support staff and if they were not able to answer any questions they referred me to Mike Modde, the service Manager. Mike spoke with me often and provided me with the information I needed to get my home tested, along with any questions regarding radon and how their system worked to reduce radon to a safe level. After a number of discussions with Mike I decided to purchase a personal detector that allowed me to measure the radon levels throughout my home over a specific period of time. It was slightly more expensive than having it tested independently but I wanted something that could continuously monitor the levels if I decided to have a reduction system installed.After testing over the recommend period of time I discovered that the level of radon in our home varied between 2 and 3 times the safe amount, so we decided to purchase a Radon Mitigating system through Mike, especially since he was so helpful, informative and patient.The system was installed by yet another wonderful employee, Joel Desjardins. In our case, because the installation involved drilling through wood joists, and concrete, my wife was very concerned about the mess that would be created and left to us to clean up. Not only was Joel prompt and courteous, but we have never had a tradesperson leave the work area as spotless as he did. And he completed the job well under the estimated time required to complete the project.And to top off this very positive experience, the radon level in our home is now significantly under the recommended safe level.I do not hesitate to recommend this business!Regards,Rick Black

After hearing about a home that had a basement flood due to a sump pump failure, I called Advanced Basement Systems. I had seen their commercials on TV. I have to say without hesitation that every part of the process was smooth and professional. Tom Blackburn came to look at the site and recommended the best product for my situation was a dual pump system with battery backup. Then Trevor Blair did a thorough job on the installation and all the while Danielle Duplessis was keeping me informed with regards to invoicing, appointments etc. This is a top notch company and would definitely recommend them.
