Seasons Retirement Community in Owen Sound

First morning I found mum on the floor in her night wear at 8:30 , so much for this place. Well this isn't a good review. Mum moved in August 10 over 2 days see was sent off to hospital twice do to her dementia , it was bad but that was no secret. After having a fall 6 days before the move mum's condition had deteriorated with reduced mobility (assistance required) and heightened dementia. We had been told that seasons could handle mum's condition and if it deteriorated the care package would be increased. Well after a week or so in the hospital Season's reassessed mum deeming her beyond their capabilities and therefor they could not care for her. This left mum homeless, destined to stay in the hospital system till December. So mum sleep in her bed for part of 2 nights. Received 2 meals., and now has a collection agency after her estate for $4,165.62 after paying $612.26 from my calculation of what seasons provided. They do not have the ability to provide their schedule F- assisted living package even though they make it seem and even say care will be increased as need.

My recovery from hip surgery has been wonderful because of the excellent care that Seasons staff have given me and the residents as well . see you in July for my second one. Linda Cupskey

I chose Seasons Retirement Home 1 1/2 years ago because of its homey appearance and designs, beautiful interior and no resemblance of an institution. I have enjoyed every day since and I'm happy I made my choice. Every day I play pool and many other choices of games, etc. in the Activity Room. There are programs and entertainment in the Theatre Room, many outings by bus, sightseeing, etc. When I am not active, I sit or lay on my outside balcony. I have a choice of six different lunches and five different dinners. Best of all, all residents are represented by a committee once a month to bring their suggestions to the manager. I feel that retired life is at it's best at Seasons.

My 90+yr old parents moved into Seasons Owen Sound Nov 2022.Seasons was very accommodating, understanding and kind.My father's health was not great. We hoped he would improve. But he did not. To our shock he passed in November. My mother is now alone and grieving. Seasons has gone above and beyond to help her adjust!! The first couple of weeks without dad was a struggle. It has been one month now since my dad passed and my mother has improved greatly with the help of Seasons staff.My family is so appreciative for all that they have done for us. The weight lifted off our shoulders seeing my mother improve under Seasons care is huge!Thank You SEASONS.

Seasons is the best place if you wish to have a loved one taken care of. Everyone is like family there. The staff are all absolutely amazing and kind and truly care for all the residents. They make you feel so welcome and cared for. We were in the process of moving my mom to Seasons but unfortunately she was discharged before we finished the process. Thankfully Seasons were able to accommodate her and have her as a respite stay before we moved her into her suite. The staff have been nothing but great towards us and I couldn't be happier that my mom and I agreed to Seasons as her next home in her life. This has been a huge transition for us and Seasons has made this a great experience and I feel that we definitely made the right choice.

We moved my 95 year old mother, who had been living on her own into Seasons about six weeks ago. She is in a one bedroom suite with living room and kitchenette. It is clean and comfortable and allows her to maintain some independence. Care is always available together with all meals. We were welcomed by friendly, efficient staff right from the start who have taken a genuine interest in her well being. Lots of activities should she wish to participate. I would recommend Seasons to anyone requiring assisted living in their retirement years.

Beautiful to say the least! Amazing staff and food!

Beware that all is fine and dandy if you stay well. They promise that they can provide services if a resident developes a health complication but in reality, they will tell you what you want to hear so that they can keep an apartment rented. My Mother pays extra to have her meds administered by Seasons and a very important medication was given in a wrong dosage because they didn't take the time to get clarification. As a result she has added mobility and continence issues on top of diabetes and COPD which was present when she moved in. As a result Mom can't get out of bed in the morning without help, to get her food and she is dangerously low on blood sugar but Seasons Head Nurse refuses to have her breakfast set on the walker by her bed. They say their policy is to make Mom walk to the table in the other room for her food, even though her mobility is bad and her blood sugar is at 3. (Mom pays extra to have her food brought to her room). She is on the LTC waiting list and we have hired a PSW for extra help but Seasons feels Mom's safety and health is not their concern, she just has to try harder". If she falls and breaks a hip or goes into Diabetic coma it's all on her."
