Scotch Pines Dog Training

April, with Scotch Pines Dog Training, is an amazing trainer! The process is fun, relaxed and extremely effective. We took our two Golden Retrievers to the class, which was held once per week for about six weeks. Our dogs are obedient and a pleasure to have with us. They behave well in public. Be aware that most of successful dog training involves training the dog owner! If you follow April's instruction, your dogs will be happy and obedient and you will be a happy dog owner, who is in control!

I have personally taken 2 dogs through April’s class. I have many friends and colleagues that have also taken dogs (some once and some multiple dogs) through her class. The only complaint I have heard from any of them is that she is too popular. Her classes are booked out for months at a time and many are repeat customers. That speaks for itself. The classes are structured and and IF you pay attention and utilize her knowledge you will be more than happy with your investment and your experience. This class is about building a stronger relationship with your dog in class and at home. If you put in the effort you will not be disappointed. I will continue to recommend her to anyone who is in need of a dog trainer as well as take any future dogs to her for training myself.

Absolute best dog trainer ever! Took the 12 week class with my Tubbs, 8 month old GSD. Best thing I have ever done! April is amazing with dogs, all dogs, but especially with GSDs, which are a bit more challenging (the best dog ever but need more interaction). Anyway, whatever breed you have April can train both the dog & you for the best outcome. I have been to other trainers & nothing competes with April...I recommend her to everyone I encounter on the walking trails! smile

Our pup is too young for the class, but April came in for a one-on-one session with our three-month old Springerdoodle. She gave us some immediate and helpful exercises to discourage the nipping and at the same time relaxes her. We're already seeing improvement in the nipping and she's way more calm! Looking forward to the group class in January.

April is a wonderful trainer. His biggest concern is the safety of you and your dog. If you are willing to put the WORK in, you will not believe the transformation of your dog. The most valuable thing is she teaches YOU to train your dog. She empowers you as the owner. If you have the chance to chat with her before of after class, she is one of the nicest people I have met, who just loves dogs and wants them to be the best they can be.We have taken two dogs through, and will continue to use Scotch Pines for every future dog we own.

I highly HIGHLY recommend using Scotch Pines for your dog's obedience training. April is a wealth of knowledge with years of experience!! She is patient, yet firm, and helps teach both the dogs AND THE OWNERS how to have a solid foundation to a happy lifestyle.Her methods are fair and consistent and we can't believe the transformation in our dog in such a short amount of time. If you're willing to put in the effort, this will be the best thing you've ever done for your dog!!I cannot recommend April enough, we absolutely loved her class and will be using her services for life!

We have taken our 2 dogs through April’s program at Scotch Pines with amazing success both times. There is a reason why her training program is sought out by dog owners all over the state. Don’t be fooled by other trainers ripping off customers by using sponsored ads when searching for Scotch Pines on Google and Yelp. Scotch Pines is very affordable with results that quickly builds confidence for both owner and dog. Having received well over 20 hours of formal class time in 9 weeks makes April’s program very cost efficient when compared to per-hour rates of other trainers. April also addresses at home behaviors (barking, jumping, nipping etc.) at the end of each class. Having access to April for training advice and overcoming obstacles particular to our dog was an amazing bonus. We regularly get compliments on our youngest dog’s manners and obedience when on walks. Unfortunately, we didn’t do regular training with our oldest dog after his graduation 5+ years ago but he still can walk off leash and does his automatic sit. He does need refresher training on his recall and a couple other commands but it was our fault for not reinforcing his training after graduating. Thankfully April allows clients to return to polish up on old skills if needed for no additional charge. We are maintaining our Doodle’s training since her graduation from Scotch Pines in October and she is still doing amazing on her off leash walks with long distance down-stays and recall training daily in distracted environments. I ‘m in the homestretch of April’s course and I just can’t believe how much my pup and I have learned. April is a wonderful teacher and so willing to help if you ask. You have to be willing to put in the time and work for this course, but if you do you will be amazed at what you can accomplish. We are so happy we signed up for this course.
