Worst nurses ever. I was in terrible pain and throwing up, but the nurse who checked me in, could have cared less. I sat in the waiting room for 5 hours and people who came after me, were sent ahead of me. They were not in pain. When I finally did get into the examining room, the nurse told my friend that the doctor couldn't find anything wrong, after being x-rayed, so I would have to leave. Two minutes later, the Doctor came back and told me that a different Doctor saw the problem and they were sending me for emergency surgery, immediately. I was rushed into South Health by ambulance, where they proceeded to do emergency surgery. Thank God the one Doctor saw the problem, because if not, I might not be here to write this review. Nothing against the Doctor, but the nurses are terrible, no compassion and no experience. Terrible, terrible experience. NEVER AGAIN, will I go to this hospital! Still can't figure out what the two ladies at the front desk are there for. They just sat there gabbing and told me to go take a chair in the waiting room. I was told that this hospital is being shut down and I can see why.

I have gone there twice for a sinus infection I have had for two years and both times the doctor would barely stand in the room with me, did not look into my sinuses or take a swab. Both times I was refused antibiotics and made to go purchase things on my own or expensive steroids. The lazy diagnoses and resulting solution given by the doctor isn't what upset me the most..It was how I was treated like some diseased thug who wasn't worth touching or barely looking at. Now I'm down here in the States outside of medical care and in sever pain for this sinus infection keeps growing....Thanks High River Hospital.. I will be sure to tell all my friends and family about this terrible experience. Sorry I didn't have a gunshot wound or cancer or something you might actually care to help with, I guess sinus infections that last forever just aren't worth your time. Good to know the extent to which your ER/Clinic doctors will go for the people they see.(not very far)

This hospital treated my Mom so well!! Can not thank the staff enough! Emergency room a bit slow, but overall very much appreciate all the care. Palliative care for her was exceptional. Thank you.

My experience in the maternity and the labour and delivery units have been nothing but extraordinary! My favorite place. Jackie is the best! However the negative rating comes from their emergency department. Back in august I had an issue I had to go to emergency. I got there at 8am. And still hadn’t been seen by 12pm. I thought it was strange when people who came after me were already seen and leaving after being treated. So I asked the nurse about it. She said “you don’t get special treatment just cause you’re in a lot of pain. You can sit in the waiting room like everyone else and I’ll let you know when I feel we have time for you.” Same thing at 3pm. I ended up walking out around 5:15pm Because I had to go get my children and I wasn’t being seen anytime soon. The next day I went to south health in Calgary and was immediately brought into surgery within 25 minutes of getting there due to an ectopic pregnancy bursting and it could’ve been less serious the day before had high river taken me seriously…. But if you’re bleeding heavily, in a lot of pain. I highly suggest literally any other hospital..

The front desk blonde lady was not friendly at all. She was annoyed to help us. The nurses and the doctor was nice but im just mad that we had to wait 5+ hours til the doctor came to check my son who fell and hit his head really hard and was bleeding a lot. We are told that he is fine just need to put special glue on his open wound. It took them 5 mins and we were sent home.

Spent a few hours there the last few days and have to say that this group of people are amazing. I started at Tom Baker and switched to High River Cancer Centre for ease of access from where I live. The group of nurses here are high energy, friendly, knowledgeable, caring, supportive and just fun to be around. I look forward to the next 5 months of chemotherapy with this amazing group of health care workers. Oh yeah, I should say that I'm new to the province and feel so welcomed in this great hospital and Cancer Centre. I should also mention that I had a sweet volunteer serve me a great soup and sandwich lunch too.

If I could give a Zero star I would. The emergency department is only good at 3pm if you go at any other time you will have a 4+ hour wait. If you have chest pain, they send you to an isolation room, which are probably set a -5°C, for 7 hours, without checking on you after only taking your vitals and their only solution to you being cold is to restart the entire triage process. While you watch other patients with similar problems who arrived at a similar time be taken care of an discharged after 20 minutes. The worst emergency department in Southern Alberta.

Great experience. I was there today for my left eye cataract surgery.I was so impressed by courteous and professional services rendered by pre-op staff, op room nurses and the post surgery staff. Dr.Lekhi performed my surgery without any pain or slightest inconvenience. I also enjoyed the mild musoc at the backgrpund in the operayion ropm. My sincere appreciations and thanks to all of you medical team!Eell done..

Worst emerg experience I've ever had. It was a Monday morning (only one person before me), I was in the worst pain I've ever experienced and went there for pain management. Got there at 9am, didn't get a room until 11am. The nurse finally wheeled me into the room and asked me to get on the bed. I said I'll give it my best shot" (I couldn't walk) and she condescendingly said "well the doctor can't treat you in a wheel chair so let's go". Even once I was in

Wet to this hospital because of pain. I arrived at 10pm. There were 3 ppl ahead of me and a 4th that came in after. All if these pll were brought in before 11pm. No bigger. I I watch all if them but one leave at about 1115-1130. And I was still wasn't called back. There was no one else there. From 11-12. I also wanted a young mom.come in with an infant and sat in the triage chair for at least 20 mins while the nurse sat at the desk in the triage and didn't acknowledge her at all where she ended up leaving before I did. If you are in need of emergency assistance take the drive to calgary of claresholm. At least there you will be seen and greater by friendly nurses
