The Learning Child Montessori Academy

We send our (currently) 16 month old daughter here, and the newly opened location is absolutely wonderful. From moment one, we felt very confident that Ms. Kris and her team have created an environment that combines fidelity to an authentic Montessori approach with careful attention to the selection of staff, the building of the facility, and the creation of a community in the families who come to TLCMA. This includes a focus on diversity and inclusion, a deep respect for children and their agency and personhood. The guides are lovely, and our daughter is thriving. The menu is also unlike anything I've seen at another childcare facility. You couldn't ask for a better place to send your wee one.

My children have been going to TLCMA a month after they have opened this year and my children are thriving. My 4 year old daughter has actually gone to their previous Panorama Hills location with Ms Kris for about a year before moving to the Willow Park location. Ms Kris has been influential in her growth not only academically but also with important life skills. She has also started to learn how to read 3 letter words by the end of her one year. Since joining, my 2.5 year old son has also been more independent, taking care of his belongings- hanging his jacket and placing his shoes neatly on the shoe rack unprompted. His vocabulary has doubled and they always come home with new songs (they know the lyrics to Oh Canada). Their food is diverse, , fresh, nutritious and made on site by Chef Jeff. The teachers are kind and wonderful, always approachable and my kids adore them. They always have some fun activities planned and encourage families to participate. We are very happy with TLCMA and highly recommend.

We love TLCMA! Our almost 3 year old started there 3 months ago and we’ve noticed such a change in her since she started developmentally and behavioural. She has always been independent but even more so now and her vocabulary has exploded. The meals they provide are nutritional and balanced. We never have to worry about her getting all her nutrients there. We’re so happy we found the TLCMA and don’t plan on switching under our little girl attends Kindergarten.

Worst daycare. I made an appointment with the director to talk about my daughter's incidents. She didn't show up and I waited for her for almost an hour. She didn't even bother to call me and the owner said the director didn't have my contact which doesn't make any sense. Don't trust this daycare. If you really care about your children's safety, don't send them to this one.

TLCMA is one of the best childcare center in the area! The staffs are excellent, attentive and compassionate and treat your children as if they are their own. The facility is huge, secure and very clean. The playground at the back is amazing and there are plenty of age appropriate toys and supplies in each classroom.

TLCMA is an incredible program and facility for our one and three year olds. I would recommend to anyone. It’s a solid curriculum, and parent communication is excellent with both daily notes and photos about play, and updates on meals, programming, and other relevant details. Healthy food every day is included for breakfast and lunch. The staff are very talented and knowledgeable. A great place for your kids to grow and spend the day!

I was so nervous about putting my daughter in daycare but the Learning Child eased my concerns as soon as she started going. My baby LOVES it here and the care is amazing! Everyone is so lovely and wonderful. Highly recommend!

If you are looking for a top-notch child care facility, this is the place to be! They have a lot of great programs to keep kids active, socially skilled, and engaged in learning. My daughter loves this place. She always talks about her classmates and teachers (she knows most of them by their names) and how much she had fun during the day. As a parent, you feel that sense of personal touch" from the teachers on how they teach / care for the kids. Thank you TLCMA for being our daughter's "home" while we work. You guys are amazing!
