Tool Rental at The Home Depot

Front desk staff were helpful and knowledgeable. Watch your rental limits on time though

I rented a compactor and Home Depot charged me over $200 for an additional day. Don't rent from them, staff are not helpful and the service is poor. Go to Roger's Rent-All instead.

So rented a roofing nailer... no instructions, no info at all model number or anything.. Got home and it pushed the nails 1/2 inch into the plywood every time... took 45 mins of internet searches and videos to adjust it.Then the unit would jam every 3-10 nails... clearly never was maintained nor oiled... my desire to complete the job vs make another trip to the store forced me to keep clearing the jammed piston, and trying again... eventually annoyed beyond measure and cooked in the sun...Went to Princess auto bought a brand new gun (worked 100% of the time) and took the rental back.The fellow suggested we were scamming him, since we had it near 4 hours...I am a pro, I spent to date in the last year over $ 25000 and to have staff insuate I was trying to scam them of 25 dollars.... No thanks! NEVER AGAINservice your equipment. Air equipment requires it. Give at least the model type for support if staff won't help at all.Terrible all the way around. Leaves me very angry at what is usually a good company.

One star only because the terrible customer service of an older guy who works in the morning. He basically convinced me to not rent a trailer. When I went to Shawnessy I figured out that he also gave me lots os wrong information about other stuff. On the other hand, Brady, who works afternoon/night shift, is awesome.

1 star only for employee named Bruce in rental equipments. I visited store maybe around 3:45pm today and asked him to rent an aerator for our lawn. He said sorry we are out of aerator all rented, I said it shows online available and saw there are so many out there locked in fence…. He said no all locked up and we are not renting it I said why!? He said it is end of the day I said it is only 4:20pm he said nope his Supervisor said to not rent and I should come on Monday to rent in the morning I said I am working he up his shoulders and walk away.. I tried allot nothing worked I talk to an associate Asim and I told my concern he called manager and the manager (Abe) without anything he went to Bruce and talked to him first and he just walked out and opened the fence and ask a new associate to assist me with the rental and all went very smooth.Thank you so much Abe and Asim and the other guy (new employee in rentals) they rent me the machine without any problem and all done today and dropped the machines.I would suggest to train your employees to follow HoneDepot policy for rental not creating their own decision to rent or not.

I rented two pressure washers from there today. I took them to Airdrie for a job and they both shut off. Unfortunately neither had been maintained and they both desperately needed an oil change. Needless to say I won't be going back.Photo to show the pitch black oil:
