Dr. Laura Pickett - Quinte Dermatology

I had an assessment and procedure completed by Dr. Pickett on March 22, 2023 upon referral by my family doctor. Dr. Pickett's attention to detail and procedural skills were excellent - she also provided post-procedure directives that were easily understood. Dr. Pickett made me feel at ease throughout the procedure (and pain free) and all was completed in a timely manner, without complications. I would highly recommend Dr. Pickett's practice.

My experience with Dr Pickett and her staff has been wonderful. Her staff have been courteous and kind. Dr Pickett has an excellent manner with patients. Her approach is gentle and caring and leaves you with a feeling of reassurance. I would highly recommend her to my family and friends.

I got a referral to this place, and I had been waiting for an appointment since Nov 2022. I had been calling multiple times to see if I had any appointment coming up and got nothing. Recently I made another follow-up, and I was told that I have a no show for appointment. According to the nurse at this clinic, they attempted to reach me twice, both failed. Instead of making a confirmation with me about setting up an appointment day, they just randomly throw a date for my appointment and expect me to show up without any idea about the appointment. Now they insist that I must pay $80 no show fee or go somewhere else. The lack of information and one-sided communication is unbelievable. I'm pretty sure the doctor is friendly and reasonable, but the desk nurse's attitude is totally unreasonable and unacceptable.

They have young (doctors?) who do the work. First one was very nice and she expressed great concern and care and doctor would say few words and let her do treatments. Next girls were useless - One in particular - might as well been nurse Gretchen (absolutely NO care for patients) Forget the young ones. The doctor did not instill any belief that she really knew what she was doing. I paid over well over $200.00 for over 6 treatments and medicines. They did not really do anything. The medicine that was prescribed was useless. I went to a drugstore near me begging for answers. I told her all of the treatments and products and basically said I should stop and do what she suggested with an over the counter product that I did not try. It worked! I had went from several problems to far too many with the doctor to none now with the pharmacist.I believe that the doctor gave up since her office did NOT get back to me as they said they would with another appointment. That is when I went to look for a better answer and was so lucky to find one.Heck the young doctors would spray the nitro all over my fingers as opposed to centering the spray on the problem creating far more pain than was needed.

I had an appointment set up with Dr. Pickett for November 8. Their office called me on November 7 to say they would need to reschedule my appointment due to unforeseen circumstances and could I come in the Friday (November 11). As I already had another specialist appointment that day I said I was flexible with any day but that Friday due to this pre-existing appointment. She said she would call me back with another date. She didn’t. That evening I received an automated call confirming Friday’s appointment. I called the office during business hours and reiterated what I had told the other office assistant about my unavailability on the Friday and the guy said so you want to reschedule your appointment? I said I never made an appointment as I wasn’t available on Friday. He paused, then said again so you want to reschedule your appointment? I gave up as he obviously wanted it to look like me doing all the rescheduling so I said yes as I mentioned before Friday doesn’t work for me. He says March 2023. I said pardon? You guys cancelled with me, not the other way around and I don’t think it’s fair that you’re penalizing me because of it. He said I’ll send your referral back to your doctor’s office and you can go somewhere else. Now I have to start the process all over again due to their actions. So frustrating and unprofessional. I would not recommend this office if that’s the way they treat their patients. Front-line incompetence. I will be filing a complaint to CPSO, which they will receive a copy to.

I’ve had the best experience with Dr.Pickett and the entire team. Definitely recommend!
