Organic Early Learning

I worked at this center as an educator in the Hemlock room. Unfortunately I had to leave because I moved to a different province, if I didn’t have to move I would still be working there. The staff in the center are friendly and caring. You can tell they enjoy their job and the kids they work with. Management is on top of everything, always checking ratio and willing to work on the floor when needed. Then there is the owner Calvin, you can truly tell he cares about the center, staff and kids. He responds quickly to any concerns or things that need fixed. His staff meetings are well organized and you can definitely tell he wants nothing but the best. His heart is in it and it’s not just about the money for him. Great place to work as a staff and I would absolutely leave my kids there.

I thought this place serves organic food but I saw them giving my daughter craft singles processed cheese for snack.

We were fortunate enough to be one of the first families accepted into Organic and despite all the many initial setbacks (protests preventing the trains from delivering furniture, Covid 19, construction delays) Calvin and his team have done a fantastic job of creating a welcoming space for families and their little ones.Rooms are divided by age with tailored toys and activities. Our son enjoyed the imaginative play stations, nature walks and outdoor play the most (the daycare has an enclosed outdoor play area with ample shade to accommodate the mud kitchen, climbing structure, and garden that were installed). Indoor time consisted of crafts, activity tables, stories and singing/dance.Throughout the day the staff would communicate with parents through the Brightwheel app. The app is used for drop off, pick up, announcements and messages. The app is incredibly user friendly and it was helpful to know if we needed to bring more diapers, clothes or wipes. It also sends you pictures of your child throughout the day, notifies you of how much they ate, and how long they napped which can be helpful at night once you've picked them up and are at home trying to feed them dinner or put them down.Lunches provided by daycare were healthy and definitely an added bonus for any working parent not wanting to pack water bottles, snacks, and lunches. Our son enjoyed the many creations that came out of the kitchen and we are thankful for the wonderful dishes from around the world he was exposed to.All in all, Organic Early Learning is a wonderful childcare facility with a bright future ahead. Any family who is accepted into the daycare can expect their little one to enjoy and grow in their early years learning.

This was my son's first daycare at 12 months. We were here for almost 6 months and loved every day of it. We had to move out of province or else we would not have left the daycare. My son learnt a lot of new things and made some amazing bond with teachers and the kids. The teachers are also very thorough and proactive with their daily updates and always update you when you pick up your kid. Another big positive point is the food which is very high in quality. I highly recommend this daycare to everyone.

I have nothing but great things to say about Organic Early Learning!Our daughter attended OEL for about for about 7 months but could not continue as we moved farther away. She still remembers the Educator’s names and asks for them now and again. That’s a true testament to how amazing the Educators are – they’re so caring, kind and compassionate, which made such an impact/impression on my 2-year-old. The Educators provide regular updates/photos through an app and are so responsive to any questions or concerns we had. The food is amazing and prepped in-house, from scratch. The centre is relatively new and the classrooms and playgrounds are super spacious.We had gone for tours at other centres and met with different Principals. Many were outdated, and often felt a bit insincere and like a cash grab. But our first meeting with Calvin (the owner) really confirmed our decision to send our daughter to OEL. He is so passionate about providing a safe and comfortable learning environment for children. He is also so sincere and dedicated which made us felt that our daughter will be in great hands. I highly recommend this daycare!

My son went to Early Organic Learning from 14 months to 2 yrs. The educators are very professional and dedicated, you receive regular updates and pictures via the app. They send out a detailed weekly menu which helps you as a parent to plan meals at home. The teachers were super friendly and didn’t mind taking a few minutes to discuss my child’s day further at pick up. My son has a hard time falling asleep and the ladies in Hemlock took time to soothe him to sleep at nap time whenever he was having difficulties. The admin team and teachers reply to messages very quickly. If you are a parent considering a childcare space in Burnaby, your child will be in good hands at EOL. The only reason my son no longer goes here is that we are in a different province now. 100% recommend.

Our son has been going to the Organic Early Learning Centre for over 7 months now and we have nothing but great things to say about this place! His educators are amazing - kind, friendly and compassionate, he has grown very fond of them, facility is great, soothing naturally bright rooms, food is delicious, the activities are fun and educative and communication is fantastic, the daycare uses an app to provide regular updates to parents.We recall our first interaction with the owner, Calvin. Our 3YO started her very first daycare experience with the Organic Learning in June. The educators were very patient and followed the cues of my child to integrate slowly into this extremely new environment. They even shifted staff between the classrooms to ensure my child is developing the beneficial relationship she needs. By the end of our stay (3 short months), my child had bonded very well with her educators.The place is almost brand new as it was gutted and renovated with light and airy, natural wood furniture and a neutral tone. Toys and desks are tidy and clean. There is a clear separation of development/play areas, such as creative/painting, role play, napping, circle time, the little reading area and etc. The classrooms have lots of natural light which I love. The children can occasionally look outside and watch pedestrians walk by and observe which is also another form of learning.The outdoor play area is also quite awesome. They have the rubbery flooring you see at playgrounds. An herbs/beans garden where my child was harvesting from all summer. There was also lots of natural elements, used tires, logs, outside wood kitchen for the kids to play with. It is really wonderful in the summer. They are also close to 2 parks that are within walking distance (even for my 3YO). They have occasionally gone to the park but due to COVID they have limited the kids exposure by not going to the public parks so much.By August, the daycare started offering meal services for breakfast, snacks and lunch. The meals are well planed and nutritious. It is a great option for children to learn to eat independently with other kids.Did I mention their communication is top notch? They utilize the bright wheel APP to communicate with parents on items such as bringing in more diapers, or the menu for the next week, or when there was severe smog that the kids will not be going outside. The APP also allows the educators to log activities such as how much food my child has had for snack and lunch, and the start and end time of her nap. The educators also upload pictures of my child (and my child only) so that parents can get a glimpse of what she does in daycare. This is by far a better way to communicate to parents than any other surveillance methods.I would recommend this daycare.

My son attended this daycare from its inception. It is well run with many caring staff members. The owner is responsive to our inquires and involved with the day to day running of the daycare.My son enjoyed the outings and activities offered at Organic, especially the lunches and snacks offered at Organic. If we did not move to another city we would still have our son enrolled at Organic Early Learning.

I am so happy with the quality of care my daughter receives here. All the caregivers are excellent, I'm never worried even if she changes classrooms or there are substitutions because all of them are just amazing.The management team is also very considerate and are not money-minded at all, they really want the child to succeed.Food is great too with a very nutritious and tasty world menu. Happy that my child gets exposure to a variety of cuisines, which we would not be able to give her at home.My daughter is happy too, and I don't even want to move her to school at 4 because they have care upto 5 years of age.
