I really enjoyed the trilogy. It was easy to relate to the characters. I liked the way it took historical facts and actual real life characters and wove them into a current fictional story. - High Miler

Having spent some time riding with Gary, I can tell you he is the 'Real Item'. There I no doubt in my mind that Gary knows his 'stuff' and has the skills to use it to good advantage. 'I'll Take My Chances' is ample proof of this.Gary's stories are rooted in fact and skillfully woven around the lives and experience of his family and loved ones. It is the stuff great mini-series are made of. I hope to soon watch what I have read.

Great story! I dont often read a book front to back in a short period of time but this one I could not put down. Can't wait to read more from this author.

Turner does an amazing job of roping his readers into this exciting story. Filled with emotional twists and turns, this novel is excellently written and leaves the reader wanting more. Although I am not much of a history buff, I found I'll Take My Chances" extremely exciting as Turner writes in a way to keep readers of all backgrounds and interests engaged. You will fall in love with the characters

I really enjoyed volume 1 and I am currently working on volume 2. Gary is a talented author who intertwines his own family lineage with fiction to tell an interesting and captivating story transcending multiple generations.

Absolutely LOVE this book! A real page turner. “I’ll Take My Chances” is a saga spanning three generations from the last Natives living as free men on the Canadian Prairies in the mid 1800 to the hardships of a young Englishman who finds himself settled in the new world determined to make a future for himself. Without giving away too much, the book is a rollercoaster dealing with tradition, family, romance, heartbreak and several journeys across the sea. I was so impressed with the craftsmanship of wording and the evocation of emotion throughout. Thoroughly enjoyable and definitely recommend the book to anyone who enjoys a great read!-Jennifer Lieberman

A fascinating story that incorporates history, honour, the horror of war, heartbreak, and hope. And of course love. Visuals are very important to me, and the author paints such a vivid picture so that even those like me who are not students of past world conflicts can find themselves totally immersed in the story. So thought provoking. Can’t wait for the author’s next project!

Love the story and the characters. It’s written in such a way that you feel you are there. This genre is not my normal ‘go to’, but I’m so glad I did.

Loved the read....so much information ... I learned a lot of things about both wars that my grandparents and Great uncles had to experience . Enjoyed the romance of the books as well . You worked very hard to research your facts to help people to get a very clear and detailed picture of what went on during that time in history.
