Hilton Saint John

Felt we were treated a little differently than the others. Been staying at hotels for years now, considering Hilton as one of the top ones. Unfortunately not anymore in my sight.

I want to give location 5 stars because of view and central location, but alas that location means there is no free parking. The room was acceptable, but definitely showing it's age. The counter was tilting, rusty electrical outlet covers and plastic stickers covering holes instead of actual repairs. Also if im being honest the bed was mediocre quality and the cleaning staff were either rushed or lazy. Not dirty by any means, just lacked the attention to detail. To clarify, this sounds bad but nothing was intolerable. Just not what id expect from the hilton. Much better value at a holiday inn in my exparience.

Room was clean and well kept. Pool is a good size, and was well cleaned and maintained. Breakfast buffet was very good, and reasonably priced. One of the elevators was out of service while we were there, so wait times for the 2nd elevator were long, and there was a bit of crowding on the elevator. Other than that, 0 complaints, would highly recommend for anyone looking to stay in downtown Saint John.

This would be the place to stay in the summer or cruise ship months in St John! Right on the water with a front view of all the marine activities. I was here in the slow months but can only imagine the bustling. The hotel is definitely dated but in fair condition. Parking garage is connected to the hotel, and the in house restaurant is open for breakfast until noon…? and then at 9pm with a very limited menu.The pictures of the rooms online doesn’t match the actual room… I guess most readers will know this is typical…:(

A Disappointing Stay at an Old and Neglected Hotel★☆☆☆☆I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at an old hotel in dire need of renovations. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this establishment had seen better days. I feel compelled to share my honest feedback to warn others, as my stay was marked by constant noise, a lack of attentive staff, and subpar services.Let's start with the physical condition of the hotel. The building itself appeared worn-out and neglected. The rooms showed significant signs of age, with peeling wallpaper, faded carpets, and outdated furniture. It was evident that a renovation was long overdue, as the overall atmosphere was far from welcoming.The noise levels within the hotel were truly unbearable. Thin walls and insufficient soundproofing meant that every footstep, conversation, and door slam echoed throughout the premises. Sleep became a luxury, as I was constantly disturbed by the commotion both during the day and at night. If you value peace and tranquility during your stay, I strongly advise against choosing this hotel.To make matters worse, the hotel seemed to be severely understaffed. There was a noticeable lack of employees available to assist guests promptly and efficiently. Whenever I required assistance or had a question, I found it challenging to locate a staff member. The limited staff that were present appeared overburdened and unable to provide adequate attention to the guests' needs. The level of service fell far short of what one would expect from a hotel of any standard.Overall, I must emphasize that this hotel does not meet the expectations of a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The outdated facilities, persistent noise disturbances, and insufficient staffing all contribute to a disappointing experience. If given the choice, I strongly urge prospective guests to explore other accommodation options in the area.It is my sincere hope that the management of this hotel takes these criticisms constructively and takes immediate steps to address the pressing issues. A thorough renovation, investment in soundproofing, and an increase in staff would go a long way in improving the overall guest experience.In summary, I strongly advise against staying at this hotel until significant improvements are made. Your travel experience deserves better than what this establishment currently offers.

C- stay.Pros: no bed bugs, comfy bedCons: several amenities were unavailable; they advertised heated indoor pool- was not heated, and was not accessible as advertised ( I have mobility issues, and the only way in the pool was a rickety ladder, not stairs like other accessible hotel pools); sauna was not working, room service was not available- pretty much the three things we rented the room for. Also the heating seemed to be capped around 20 degrees. Tried to increase temp and it was still uncomfortable being without socks.Construction in the area and hotel ongoing repairs, self parking only, and the breakfast we paid extra for was a basic buffet.Honestly regret booking here, and do not feel it was worth 500 for a two night stay.

Lovely visit- everyone was warm and welcoming (and very helpful). We enjoyed both dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Great view of the harbor. The kids loved watching seals play in the harbor and a brief dip in the salt water pool, though they wished it was warmer! I hope to come back to explore more of Saint John!

Great hotel. Near everything downtown. Lots of great restaurants and shopping around. Service was top notch! Not far from grocery stores and other shopping.

The service and location are excellent! Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The location is great since it is in the heart of uptown, it is within walking distance to all uptown amenities. The view would have been better without the eyesore of the construction but that's not the hotel's fault so I'm not holding it against them. The room was great. Very comfortable. The only thing I didn't like were the large pump bottles of shampoo and conditioner attached to the bathroom wall. It was inconvenient when taking a bath. I personally prefer the individual travel size bottles. I also didn't realize that parking was not included in the rate so I was a little annoyed about that upon check in. But overall it was a great stay.

We had a beautiful king bed with city and harbor view. What a great service, we were in our honeymoon and everywhere we went they knew an treated us like royalty gave us complementary champagne/postcard/gift bag plus last 2 days of free buffet breakfast. We need it a microwave and got it like in 15 minutes. Staff at restaurant buffet super nice (mainly Judith), front desk as well. Will be back, we give it 5+ starts
