Would give zero if I could. Went to visit family on our side by side. We knew the rules so our plans were to park them, pay our 5.00 and walk to their site. When we got to gate the insane woman told us no side by sides, no walking in through the gate we best turn around and leave the campground. She wouldn’t even let us talk. All she did was yell at us while waving her hands around like a crazy woman and told us never to come back. I have never been treated or talked to like this before . I have never written a review before but I feel that people should know what they may face. Time to retire from the tourism business if this is how you treat people

There is no day use for this park and the lady who owns it on the front is the most rudeness person that I have ever met in my life. She could do better for herself and her dog if she learn to be a bit more nicer and open the park to people who want to use the beach but I guess that is more expensive for her and more work for her to upkeep it. Very sad for Newfoundland kindness towards visiting people to our wonderful province.

One star because it won’t let me give it zero! Terrible approach road and we were met at the rope gate by a strange and bedraggled old woman and her German Shepherd dog. She wanted us to pay $5 to let us even go and take a quick drive through to see if we wanted to move our camper over there. We turned around and left. Very unwelcoming. Not going back.

After traveling Newfoundland for two weeks and meeting some amazing people and hosts, we stopped in at this park to visit friends. We drove up to the gate" and were greeted by a frantic barking Rottweiler straining at his leash. A sign stated that the property was "Protected by a Rottweiler"

First off the town of Howley is a true gem! The locals are so friendly and depict the true nature of Newfoundlanders. Unfortunately the same can't be said for the manager of this campsite. My husband and I were visiting Howley for the first time and this campsite was the first one that popped up on Google. We were hauling an ATV as part of our trip was going to be quadding in the area. Upon arrival we were told that the ATV was not permitted on the campsite and had to be left out in a spot that was just behind the owner's trailer. The spot wasn't very big and didn't allow room to offload the ATV at the bottom so it had to be offloaded at the top and driven down to the area. The owner wasn't too fussy with us camping in a tent as we might put the pegs too far down and interfere with the electrical in the campsite. We had paid already and figured we could deal with 4 nights. At the entrance to the park is a rope that has to be let down by the owner once you enter or leave the park. The owner informed us at check in that hours for the campground were from 8 am to 10:30 pm.... making it quite clear that we couldn't leave before 8 or enter after 10:30... unless it was for an emergency that she would determine. The campground itself needs a lot of work. We were told that some of the sites didn't have picnic tables... they were under reconstruction. Ours was one of the sites but at around 10 pm a man came by and yelled out to see if he could get help putting our picnic table on the site. We were already settled for the night so we told him we would place it ourselves in the morning. Some of the campsites are positioned in a such a way that it would be difficult to get an RV in them... very tight squeeze. There are a lot of potholes that should be filled in as walking around the park in the dark (no lighting only from campers) is dangerous. We were told that due to covid-19 they did not collect the garbage from the sites and we would have to put our garbage in the bin next to her trailer.... which was overflowing the first couple of days we were there. Not really a big deal until we got to the campsite and there was no garbage can let alone a garbage bag so we had to purchase that ourselves. She also told us recyclables would be disposed of as garbage since they go in the garbage anyway". The comfort station was clean but a shower cost you $1 for 4 minutes. We definitely will not be staying there again and would advise our friends and family to avoid the park as well."

zero stars, wanted to visit friends/relatives. We arrived on side by side and asked if we could visit, we knew it was a 5.00 fee no problem, but the owner(a female) lost her cool for no apparent reason and said back up and leave your not welcome, all we wanted was to park them someone close and walk in. HORRIBLE MANNERS , it was like she was on something. They are very unfriendly and hate atvs or side by sides or hated something? We were shocked to how the woman got on. We have heard this from several people...SHES GOT BIG PROBLEMS.

Very misleading ad = Close to ATV trails. We had an ATV in the back of our truck and another in our toy hauler. Not allowed to drive ATV in campground, not even to unload and drive it to the ATV storage area. The lady who checked us in only accepted cash and was very rude. Told us we had to unload our ATV's outside of the camping area and then they had to stay in an ATV parking area outside of the camping area. ZERO stars. We left the next day, had been planning on staying a few days and do some trail riding. Will NOT stay there again. The camp staff cater to seasonal renters and don't much like short termers/weekend campers.

Well.... Approached the campground at sunset. What do you know, just like all the reviews said, I was welcomed" by the rudest lady I've ever met. I was on my first night bikepacking across Newfoundland. I understand if tents aren't allowed
