Lairds Tree Farm

We purchased a beautiful blue spruce for Xmas at Laird's.They have a very organized system were they greet you at the entrance and explain where to locate the many different types of trees and how to know the price based on the colour coded ribbons.They also lend saws and offer wrapping and tying to your roof racks .Prices are reasonable.

No problem to see these were pruned and cared for as there were a ton of beautiful trees to pick from. Various species so plenty of choices.3. Well organized lot. Well labelled. They even had Christmas music and a fire pit to warm up next to if you desired.4. Free hot chocolate.5. ATM on-site, which is convenient.I'll be going back to this location next year.

I prefer 'wild' looking Christmas trees, that are not over-shaped, tight cones. Lairds is by far my favourite place to buy my Christmas trees. The fact that they also provide landscaping services means their tree shaping is minimal and their trees look natural. It's a small operation, and not as snazzy as some of the dedicated tree farms around Ottawa, but the people are cheerful and helpful. They provide saws and offer tree wrapping. I've had a positive experience every year.

Fun to go and cut down a fresh tree... But the trees themselves are kind of mis shaped and such. The farm itself is a mish mash of trees, buildings, garbage, abandoned vehicles; its very scenic. The staff however was very friendly and helpful. A tractor ride out to another field yielded better trees but still not what i would consider Christmas tree grade. Nonetheless we were there so we cut a balsam fir down anyways with a nice sharp saw that they provided and away we went. The tree was set up and in water within a couple hours. After 10 days its now turning to dust. Its drinking 2+ liters of water a day but dropping hundreds of needles a day. If i touch a branch it goes bare. 4 days to Christmas and I hope it lasts!! I phoned to inquire about this problem and their solution was well don't touch it".... Lol

What an awesome experience! Owner helped us himself as it was before season started and took great car of us, especially our little guy. We will definitely be back! Thanks for the great experience!

First time visiting a tree farm and enjoyed it and love the tree we picked (Balsam Fir). They provide you with a saw and a map identifying the types of trees they had on site. They helped us haul the tree to the main area to wrap it up and an employee helped my husband secure it to the roof of our car. We did not partake in the other activities but they did have a wagon ride and you were able to buy hot drinks to keep warm. Definitely we'll be coming back next year!

Great service, very helpful staff, but it's warm today, so dress for muddy conditions. I like getting big trees and they don't disappoint!

We just had four 10ft white spruce planted on our property for privacy and visual appeal and what a great job they did. Organized a time to meet at the farm and didn’t feel rushed at all. Dan was happy to answer all our questions and let us walk the fields to pick just what we wanted. Beautiful selection of trees for landscaping and Christmas. We had the trees planted on our property by Dan and one other employee and they were fast, friendly and professional. Again they both had plenty of time to answer my questions about future care and rooting and offered to leave some extra top soil for me to level the area after. My wife and I are so happy with the look and job they did and cant thank them enough!

First time here and it was a great experience. We accidently went before the open season but the owner was really nice and accommodated us anyways. He shaked and wrapped the tree for us and helped me tie it to the top of my car. Prices are also reasonable for these good quality trees. Definitely recommend.

Trees are very mis-shapen and doesnt look like they put much effort into trimming or maintaining the trees throughout the year. Kids were excited about the promise of hot chocolate and wagon rides but trees werent worth the price so we left to go to another farm. Not 5 stars for sure!!
