Seaside Shanty Restaurant
We stopped by on our way home from the south shore on a very hot day with our dog. The food and service was fantastic, best lobster roll yet! But what really stood out to us was how much the staff cared especially when it came to our dog. It was quite hot and not only did they move us closer to the shade they also brought out a bowl of cool water AND a cup of ice cubes for him to keep cool. The space is so cute with a great view of the basin. I would highly recommend stopping by!

Seaside Shanty Restaurant
Open on Mondays! We were staying near Lunenburg for a few days at the end of the summer season and wanted to go out for lunch. A little research lead us to the Seaside Shanty and it was amazing. The lobster roll was the best one we had the whole trip! The chowder was equally amazing. I recommend this restaurant whole heartedly. The restaurant is clean and modern and the staff was very friendly. Also, this is the only good restaurant in the area that is open Mondays! It's worth the drive.

Seaside Shanty Restaurant
First time after renovation and new owner. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful with our orders. The staff was friendly, and eager. The price point was expected. The food was served at a reasonable time. The food was excellent and on par for the style of restaurant. Would recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful view of the south shore and delicious food. It should be noted that our server, I believe her name was Jamie; was absolutely amazing and she made us feel like family.

Seaside Shanty Restaurant
Excellent surprise when most places along our route were closed on Jan 2. Unassuming exterior opens up to a bright and modern space. Our server was a joy and the food top notch. Seafood chowder was full of the good stuff with light, flavourful chowder. Split pea soup - simple and tasty. The Halibut in the fish and chips was perfectly cooked with a nice batter and great fries. I had the seafood pasta and it was excellent with amazing sautéed scallops and shrimps on homemade pasta and an incredible and tasty sauce (it should have mussels too, but they were out so extra scallops on it!) Not the cheapest place but worth every penny and has a beautiful view as a bonus!

My first time to this sweet sea side restaurant. Wonderful view of the Chester Basin, sitting near the wharf. Great spot to take pictures or just enjoy some coastal scenery. There is a drop between road and parking lot where it's been eroded and this could potentially cause damage to a vehicle. Inside, the decor is thoughtfully planned, modern, and chic. My friend and I both ordered the fish and chips. Both are crispy and golden, done to perfection. If you have problems digesting grease then you might order something else. The coleslaw presents colourfully and tastes delicious. The coleslaw is a nice generous portion. Our server was upbeat, friendly and provided great service. The wait time for food was minimal. I look forward to go again in the future! Great location if you are also visiting the Nordic Day Spa.

Our meal was unbelievably good! I can’t believe it is almost rated the same as Subway in Chester.We were on a bit of a time crunch and the I’m not sure if service is always that quick or if they accommodated for us but it was greatly appreciated.The lobster roll was packed of lobster and the bun was not overly buttered so you could really enjoy the lobster. The po Bo was delicious and was my favourite of the two. We also really enjoyed the fish cake special.We sat outside and got to enjoy views of the water. I highly recommend coming here!

Beautiful little restaurant with a very warm, friendly, and homely vibe. The food was tasty and had very generous portion. The waitresses were very polite and nice. They even gave us some tips on the area around as we were tourist from Toronto. Highly recommend

It use to be outstanding. We use to go to this restaurant years ago the chowder was incredible and all the specials were great. It was very boring not very good way too expensive forthe quality and there are far better places to go. Do not recommend for the price you are going to pay. I give rgis a very big pass..
