Barrie Dog Off Leash Recreation Area

Large area for our Odie to explore and meet new friends. Other visitors and their well behaved pets made Odie’s first visit good.

Some times the owners are the only problem.They can't help the mud in the spring and fall or the ice in the winter.This is a great place to bring toy dog for off leash fun, and there is a a side area for smaller dogs!

I always bring my dog to this park because I've never had a bad experience and enjoy the comfort of having people that know dogs well enough to keep them behaved. You can expect that there are a lot of huskies here and have to realize that certain dog breeds play in a particular way. If you keep an eye on your dog's behaviour you won't have an issue. Be a responsible pet owner.At the back of the large enclose pen, is a more nature-driven side of the dog park where you and your dog can walk the trails and be comfortable with their being a fence surrounding the area. Always be wary that there may be holes in the fences and keep an eye on your dog and you'll be fine.

No lights and tap for water which I feel is a must for such a big play area. However it's a good space with 80% friendly people and dogs ... You definitely will find a couple of aggressive dogs fighting amongst themselves and a few rude owners. But overall it's a fun place for your pup! As long as your pup comes back to you when called it should be great .. coz chasing after them is going to be tough in this huge space!

It is so nice to have these facilities in anywhere really it allows the poor puppies to be off a leash to be free to spread around to roam around and feel free versus being always on the leash because of course one of the bylaws is that you can't have the dogs of the leash and okay I understand but they provide facilities to let them lose it's great and it's well appreciated and the puppies they do well deserve it.

Good park.It's busy because of the location which is good thing for people who work various shifts and want to socialize their pups. A lot of the other dog parks in the Simcoe area are dead outside of the 5-6pm time frame.

Pulling into the parking lot make my dog so excited to play around. Great walking trail in the back of the park. Please pick up after your dog and make sure they are ready to meet other dogs and people.

Always a great time! Large fenced in space for plenty of running around and making friends! This particular trip is from my dog's birthday and it was a great time. Friendly owners and dogs and my pups love it. Also a wooded trail nearby that is perfect for a stroll or hike depending on your intensity level. Plenty of parking also which is great!

Wonderful, Large offleash area and it even has walking trails behind it with some nice wooded area.Tons of parking space as well. Would recommend

This park is big and well fenced. The valley portion is good, but the main part is wide open to the north wind. The shelter installed is facing south. It's nice to have, but it should be facing east so the dogs can be watched. The people sit in there, talking. In the spring, this park is a mud hole and disgustingly filthy.
