Janet Barber Aquatics - Office

Janet Barber Aquatics was exactly what I was looking for. They have small classes and many times more than 1 instructor per class. The instructors support their students to accomplish as much as possible in a session. They are not bound by levels and personalize lessons so children can practice what they need to. Children regularly complete more than 1 level per session and those who do not complete 1 level, don't fail, they receive a silver or gold star. For those ahead there is a flips and turns class to keep them swimming until they are old enough to proceed to the next level. Janet is very energetic and accommodating. She recognizes busy lives and tries her hardest to work in make up sessions. My kids have been with the school for 3 years and counting. It's been a fantastic experience.

As an instructor at Janet Barber Aquatics I have had a great experience. The environment is positive and supports all learners. We have small class sizes to ensure students have a highly individualized and focused lessons. We use the Red Cross Swim Kids program as well as the Royal Lifesaving level to accommodate our aspiring teachers. As a staff member everyone was very welcoming and value me as a team member. I would highly recommend this program to swimmers of all ages and abability!

We used Janet's Aquatics tutored by Mary Alice this summer for my boys (ages 9 and 6). My 6 year old never swam through the pandemic and thanks to Mary Alice he was swimming by Day 3. He finished 8 classes swimming a lap on his back, treading water for 20secs and a good beginner front crawl. My 9 year old who knew the basics, in 8 lessons built a lot of endurance on his front and back, learnt all the other strokes and was doing over 15 laps in one go. The teacher was very capable, clear in instructions and worked very well with kids. The pool was clean, heated and welcoming. It was very pleasant dealing with Janet who handles the administrative side of things. She runs a great service in Oakville. I wish I had found Janet Aquatics sooner and not wasted $$ on franchises which are expensive but don't move the dial much/at all.

Janet and her instructors are Amazing! My daughter looks forward to her swimming lessons every week. When our daughter first started she loved the water but did not know how to swim. It is incredible to see her progress and all that Janet has taught her! Janet Barber Aquatics does not only teach the kids to swim, but teaches the proper techniques in hand with the discipline to move on to the next level.

Amazing! Don't put your kids in town programs. They stand for 90% of the lesson, swim for 1 minute then wait again. We wasted our money on them for 4 years! Janet and her instructors are great!

I have been a long-time Janet Barber employee, who couldn't ask for a better boss. Janet is an extremely supportive mentor, who coaches her staff on both a personal and professional level.
