Steve was polite and responsive to my request for a walk through and bid for my project. His bid arrived a couple of days after the first appointment and we scheduled the work a few days later.Steve and his team were professional, efficient and thorough. In addition, Steve and his team made time to talk to my elderly neighbor. They were respectful and kind to him all the while working on the landscaping.

We had a new deck completed by Red Axe Landscaping. They were quick to both come out for an estimate, and to complete the project. The deck is beautiful and we love how it updates the look of our house. We will use Red Axe Landscaping again!

I’m not a typical review-writing person, but wanted to take a moment write something about my great experience with Steve and Red Axe Landscaping. Quick backstory: When we moved into our home, the lawn was in rough shape with big bare patches in the very shady back yard, and large burnt patches in the very sunny front yard, as well as a lot of thatch. Being a yard novices, we tried to reseed in the Spring, with sub-optimal results; some areas grew OK but others didn’t take at all. With the Fall planting season fast approaching I knew I was going to need some professional help to get the results I wanted. I did some searching around online, and what I found were two main categories of lawn/landscaping companies: 1) big established lawn companies that felt impersonal and had long waits and/or 2) a bunch of poorly reviewed companies with lists of detailed negative reviews. Then I came across Red Axe, and while the number of reviews was small, the reviews were excellent, and I got a sense that the company was solid, so I sent an e-mail to request a consult/quote.Steve (the owner) called me just a day later, on Labor Day no less, and offered to come out same-day to assess the situation. Just hours later Steve rolled up, spent a thorough amount of time assessing, taking measurements, and listening to my likely long-winded story about my prior struggles with the yard. Steve was thoughtful, honest and I really felt trustworthy. He sent us a detailed itemized quote just a day later covering all of the worth we discussed, and the prices seemed quite reasonable (I wasn’t looking for dirt cheap, since that almost always means poor quality when it comes to landscaping). We decided to move forward with Steve, but had one big issue – we had some travel plans and were concerned about being able to keep up with the watering regimen for the young grass. Steve addressed our concern quickly, explained a simple and practical watering schedule and suggested an easy solution for watering while we were out of town. Just 2 days later Steve and team came out and mowed, de-thatched, aerated and planted our yard, and trimmed up a few shrubs. On short notice, he even helped us put down bags of mulch that we had purchased, but hadn’t yet had a time to deal with. Steve was in-touch twice after the planting day, checking in to see how everything looked and how the watering was going. While its only been a week since Steve and team did the job, I can already start to see some small slivers of grass popping up in our bare patches, which means a huge sigh of relief on my part.IN SUMMARY, Steve was kind, thoughtful, timely, thorough and professional during the entire process. He eliminated my frustration and left me feeling great about how our yard is going to look in the coming weeks. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Red Axe Landscaping.

Steve with Red Axe was so great to work with. Red Axe was the only service I could find that was flexible with me and agreed to mow and water my lawn while we were out of town. Without his help, I don't think selling our house would have been quite as easy. His work was excellent, and it showed!THANKS SO MUCH!

Buyer Beware. I would give this company 0 stars.* I contracted the project on Sept. 11, 2018 and made a $2550 deposit. Steve tells us the project will take 4-6 weeks.* Having not heard from Steve I send an email September 26th asking when he will start.* Sept. 27th Steve answers he will begin Oct. 1.* October 1st Steve removes the old walkway and tells me he will be back the next day with a design for us to look at.* October 2nd Steve does not show.* October 9th Steve has still not shown-up. I email him and ask for a completion date. He says he will finish by Oct. 19. I suggest if the project is not completed by Oct. 24th contract will be considered cancelled and I will be refunded the $2550 deposit in full within two days which would be October 26, 2018.* Oct. 24th the project is not completed and Steve assures me it will be completed by the end of the week, Sept. 26.* October 29th Steve request $800 for materials.* October 31st Steve needs to replace his cutting saw and asks for $300.* Nov. 2nd Steve has finished the walkway and partial garage step.o Wood has been used on the facing of the stepso Steps do not meet codeo Cement sand covers the walkwayo Steve tries cleaner to remove the cement sand and says he will return the next day to clean it and have a plan to correct the steps and replace the wood with brick.* Nov. 6th Despite daily texts and emails, Steve does not respond or show-up.* Nov. 7th I am told by two landscaping companies the flagstone and paving brick is ruined due to the hardening of the sand cement left on them. The porch steps do not meet building codes and the wood on the front of the step extends above the brick causing a trip hazard.
