Chez Aicha

Just yesterday, I enjoyed the authentic mint tea. And specialty deserts. Very beautifully crafted.Thrilled to see the groceries they carry to recreate tagines other dishes at home. They even carry Mortadella! You can truly expect an authentic culinary experience.

Ordered for 85$ worth of food for 3.Garlic potatoes were WAY overcooked. ( almost burnt)Chicken shawarma looked like sesame chicken from a Thai restaurant with a sesame drizzle on top.( For anyone that have already had true chicken shawarma; that’s not it).Plates were served with a rice salad (Cold white rice and frozen veggies basically.)Nothing like the picture shown on their own menu!?!Water was never brought to us.The Shawarma machine was turned off even; Yet when we asked the waiter we were told that the served chicken was the end of the skewer.. ?!85$ down the hole.I was craving real mid-eastern/ Maghreb food for a long time but I guess that’s more of a cantine for the local students than a real restaurant wanting to deliver a true experience.Saddened to see my expectations were not met. Especially at that price.Will not come again nor recommend.

After having had 3 meals there, I can say that the only flavorful dish served to me was the chickpea soup.Everything else lacks flavor and texture.The shwarma was: dried small shavings of chicken, served on a plate (not a pita). You couldn't even pick up the pieces with your fork, they were so small and dry.With that, I was given what was less than 5 ml of garlic sauce to go with the dry chicken, and fries.I didn't taste salt in any of the dishes I've tried, I don't think there is any in the restaurant.The kebabs were also dry and flavorless, you could barely taste the herbs or spices, no salt... again with no pita + garnishes, just plain on a plate.Pastries were also stale, apart from a fruit shaped one that had what I believe to be an apricot filling? That one was actually very good, good texture good flavor.I was excited to try a bourak for the first time, what a let down that was.A bourak is suposed to be a filling of ground beef, spices, and a limited amount of veg, fried in an egg roll like pastry.Instead it was filled with mashed potato (filler), and had specs of ground beef spread around in the mix. It felt like eating oversized pierogies.I was excited to have a north African/ middle eastern restaurant in town but they need a cheff, as it stands, I will sadly not eat there any more.

Un très bon restau/épicerie, enfin à Shippagan! La bouffe est tellement délicieuse et le personnel et très gentil et serviable, je recommande à 1000 pourcent !!!!!!

Produits du bled et cuisine ancestrale d'Algérie. Allez -y c'est super !

Gorgeous and really good food

Nouveau restaurant maghrébin à Shippagan, incluant une épicerie. Très bon! Chez Aicha , boulevard JD Gauthier. J’ai bien aimé le shawarma et le the à la menthe.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ je suis extrêmement satisfait d'avoir mangé chez Aicha, repas copieux et délicieux, prix raisonnable, je recommande vivement cet endroit.
