Knot Too Shabby Consignment Bridal

In April 2023 I visited this business and found a beautiful dress to try on but it would not easily zip up, was too tight and I therefore was not going to buy it. I told the salesperson, who I believe was also the shop owner this within the fitting room area and she proceeded to force the zipper to be done up and went on to say as long as the zipper could be done up, the dress could be altered to fit me. I believed her, paid for the dress, left the store with the dress and went to their recommended alterations person. I needed the dress for an event in early June 2023, it sat for May 2023 with their recommended alterations person who informed me at the end of May 2023 that the dress could not be altered to fit me (a fix that I was told by the shop could be easily done). I quickly had to find a backup dress. I contacted the shop owner to advise of the above and the shop owner indicated to me that their shop had a no refund policy and stuck to their no refund policy, she advised I should not have relied on what they had told me during my shopping appointment for the dress as they do not guarantee what they say - I have this in writing from them in a message. In June 2023, the shop offered me the option to re-consign the dress with them to sell (which in essence could mean a partial refund as the store takes a cut IF and /or WHEN the dress sold to someone else), even though I only bought the dress because I was told it could be altered by them at the store and even though the dress had been with their recommended alterations person since it left the store (I had never even worn the dress at all). I am and was only interested in a refund option as a matter of principle. I highly advise anyone shopping at this shop to not believe what they tell you in terms of alteration possibilities and even beyond that as they do not stand by or guarantee anything they say apparently during your appointment and they do not offer refunds if what they say turns out to be untrue or not doable. This certainly was a lesson to me to never shop at this shop again nor recommend it to others. Believing what I was told at this store has financially cost me: the money for the dress from the shop plus the money for the alterations person's time - all for a dress that was never worn / that I cannot wear. (I will also add that I am a business owner myself and I do not write or post negative reviews typically as I know personally how they impact a business, but, how I was treated by this establishment and the business practices of this establishment are beyond not right to me so I feel it is important to share).

Definitely recommend if you’re hoping to find the dress of your dreams but don’t want to pay insane prices. There are one of a kind dresses here that you’ll never find anywhere else

I did not end up finding my perfect dress here, but my shopping experience was wonderful! I stepped in to inquire about making an appointment, but there were no other brides in at the time so I was able to try on immediately! Even though I was clear I was not ready to purchase anything that day she treated me with the care I'm sure she treats all her brides! The selection was impressive and Elsa was a very knowledgeable guide! She was respectful of my budget and did not try to pressure me into anything! Unfortunately I no longer need a dress, but I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for a dress!!

Elsa is very friendly! I did not purchase my dress at her store but I brought it there for consignment. She priced it fairly and literally sold it in two hours. She is amazing! She has great selection of both wedding gowns and other occasions (prom, bridesmaid, etc).

Elsa was so helpful at helping me find the perfect dress! Her store has so much variety and she respects your budget completely. Her service was unmatched compared to other bridal shops we visited. She also helped us with finding the perfect dress for my mom :) 10/10 recommend coming here !

I whole heartedly recommend Knot too Shabby for any bride or person looking for a formal dress. The store is set up beautifully, it is nice, bright and clean. I am so happy with my whole experience, being plus sized I was a bit worried but all of that washed away when I was greeted, the owner is very friendly and knowledgeable. There are lots of options for dresses and very nice jewelry and cards.

I purchased my dress from Elsa last year but recently wore it for my wedding. Every time I looked at my dress leading up to the wedding, I was filled with excitement. The day of our wedding was no different.Elsa's passion for bridal gowns and being environmentally friendly is truly inspiring! Shopping at Knot too Shabby was a no pressure shopping experience that I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a beautiful gown at a reasonable price. I am sure all of her brides experience the same feelings of joy that I experienced when I wore my dress.

I absolutely recommend Knot Too Shabby! I have been a customer as a bride, for formalwear, and for consignment; every interaction has been positive.Elsa is extremely knowledgeable and was very supportive when I needed guidance for my wedding dress. The selection really is amazing! Dresses are of excellent quality, there is a good size range, and many differing styles available. If you can make it to Stratford, definitely book an appointment at Knot Too Shabby!

We were recommended to go to Knot Too Shabby by a friend who had recently gone with her now sister-in-law. We're from Toronto, but heard such lovely things that we decided to make a day of it & head to Stratford. Elsa & Nita were absolutely AMAZING! Not only did they make my soon to be sister-in-law feel comfortable and beautiful, they made us feel like family. Their dress and designer knowledge was top notch, understanding of what Jessica (the bride) wanted & how she felt, and gave her so many different options. I bought my wedding dress from Elsa, my experience was great. She was very friendly and I really enjoyed my time shopping! There is an amazing selection of dresses with a large variety of styles and sizes.I also had the pleasure to have Jennie do my alterations and fittings for my dress.
