I live in BC but needed a lawyer in Ontario to help me deal with my father’s estate. I did a bit of research and decided to go with Milton Estates Law. I sent them an email with a question and they replied right away. I decided to hire them to help me and I have been extremely happy with their services. In particular, I have dealt with Erica Kapa and lawyer Hala Tabl. They have been very professional and hard working. I am so happy to have them on my side. I would highly recommend Milton Estates Law.

I would not recommend this firm at all for probate issues. Key details were missed in my mothers estate issue and the lawyer was very rude and lacked any compassion.

I located Neil Milton's practice online while searching for information regarding the complexities of out-of-Canada executors and POAs for Canadians. Mr. Milton agreed to meet with my father and me, as we are doing his estate planning, to discuss the pros and cons of using a trust company vs an individual for POA/Executor, given that I reside in the US. Mr. Milton spent a full hour with us, patiently answering our questions and giving us a wide array of advice on topics related to probate, handling of securities accounts from outside Canada, setting up joint accounts, and more. He did all this effectively pro-bono knowing that we would not be retaining him or paying him. We were impressed with his time and efforts and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for guidance in estate planning.

I am currently situated in the Caribbean and due to covid restrictions unable to travel to Canada. However, I gained great assistance from Milton Estates and was able to resolve my matter in a timely and cost- friendly manner. I spoke with Mr. Milton on the phone because I needed an estate lawyer that was in the area and not miles away. I didn't know if it was a good idea due to the 1st review written. However, I was pleasantly surprised. He told me everything I needed to know and answered all kinds of questions in a calm, polite, pleasant voice. I had many questions and concerns regarding my dads estate. So, like many others out there, I searched google first looking to find answers to address my concerns. I had many questions about Probating a will, that involved a complicated situation. I emailed Neil Milton and had all my questions answered and my concerns addressed. I am estate trustee for my dad who suffered a severe stroke, was bedridden for a long time and passed away after suffering from many stroke complications. When I started working on the administration and probate, some financial documents were not available. Neil Milton provided me with excellent direction and support. He recommended to get the probate completed ASAP. He said that I can feel comfortable that I am doing all the administration and probate correctly with what I know. And if in the future if other financial documents come up, I can pay the interests later. And If there was a financial penalty later because of missed financial documents; I would pay it. Neil Milton said sometimes penalties can be waived in complicated cases when the estate trustee acted in honestly and integrity: in good faith". Over the past 3 years I’ve used Milton Estates to settle 2 family estates. Although unfortunate events, due to their vast knowledge and superior service, I wouldn’t dream of using anyone else.
