Halifax Law Courts

Halifax & Dartmouth | The Courts of Nova Scotia | There are five courthouses located in the Halifax Regional Municipality. The Court of Appeal and Supreme Court sit primarily at the Law Courts building on Upper Water Street. Family law matters in HRM are heard at the courthouse on Devonshire Avenue. A new satellite courthouse on Mellor Avenue in Dartmouth is now the site for most criminal jury trials in the Halifax region. The Provincial Court sits in the courthouse on Spring Garden Road and in the Professional Centre on Pleasant Street in Dartmouth.
