April Point Resort & Spa

The place is a little more rustic than it lets you believe by the pictures.The best parts about this place are the views and the staff. Both are spectacular. The cons are there is no Spa, hot tub doesnt work, tvs don't work, wifi is non-existent in the rooms furthest away and the water from the taps shouldnt be used for drinking. They have ample bottled water for you so that isn't a problem. Just odd.The place is beautiful and rustic. Just pack your snacks and bevvies as there is limited options around at night. Lower your room expectations and you will LOVE it here.Come here to disconnect and there will be no problems. If you came to stay connected you may be a little disappointed.

We enjoyed our overnight stay at April Point Lodge despite the run down state of the building. Windows are difficult to see through and desperately need replacing but fortunately the weather was warm enough to be on the balcony where we enjoyed the stellar view and sounds of nature. As a person who has multiple chemical scent issues I was bothered by the smell in the room - I believe it might be the laundry products used on the sheets. Dining room had a short window for dinner only - no breakfast or lunch service - food was delicious but quite expensive for the amount served. A free breakfast box was kindly offered but we declined as it did not meet our dietary requirements. Staff were friendly and helpful. No hot water but we did get a discount for the inconvenience. No issue with tv or wifi as other reviews stated. This place has potential to be a great vacation destination.

Amazing location, very comfortable bed. The property needs some work (paint, roof cleaning, garden/yard work) and the spa, hot tub, and restaurant were closed as they did not have staff. It would also be nice if the office had a few basic supplies and snacks. Still, it was enough just to sit outside and stare at the sea.

First let me praise the gardener who helped us with our luggage, and the food server was great.However this place has several years of neglect.1. Multiple railings and stairs unsafe due to rot. Photos available on request. I am amazed no one has been hurt. Do we hear insurance claim.2. Our cabin had many issues. No plug for bathroom sink, jet tub failed to jet. No TV, no phone and spotty wifi. When the sunset you saw how dirty the window is. Our door blind failed, and awall lamp was missing a light bulb.3. No early check-in we were told go away and come back in a few hours.4. The breakfast was a prepackaged box. A set of baskets and self serve would be far better.5. When we did eat in the dining room we had ants pick up our crumbs.Great location, but living on past years.Unless major work is done this place will soon be a memory.I would be curious to see this place in a year.

The view was absolutely amazing from the room and the restaurant. However major staffing issues closed down the spa, hot tub, shuttle to the sister resort which has the pool that we wanted on a very warm day. Also waits times ar the restaurant was extreme long. The entire resort shut down at 8pm with no activities. Very unorganized did not even have playing cards for sale or to borrow. Location was amazing however lack staff affected the experience. The resort was amazing however no communication of shut downs made for a bad experience.

Everyone at the resort was kind and very welcoming, although there was some confusion with our reservation, it was all sorted quickly.The rooms were clean, cozy and the view was stunning! We got to see eagles, sea otters and harbor seals out of our balcony. The resort grounds are beautiful and have a nice area for lounging, walking and watching the fabulous sunsets.The restaurant was just starting a new tapas menu. The items we tried were tasty but a bit small and the price didn't seem to reflect that. They did have some nice local beer on tap.Overall, a wonderful experience!

Didn't tell us about everything being out of order until we arrived. Paid for a room with jetted tub and upgraded just for that. Was told after check in there water pressure couldn't handle it. But wouldn't refund or move to the room that was cheaper with normal tub. Said it was sold out but was 8 cars in parking lot. Had no cable TV ready said company was coming but was late. Don't tell me that's normal cause it's not. Wifi was almost unusable they said it's very spotty on quadra island that would be easily fixed with wifi repeaters in each room not hard for a place that charges what they do. They said they provided a free breakfast meal didn't even bother bet it was an old and stale like their customer service. The main lady knew the customer service was bad she was pretending somehow like this was normal what was not told to us upon arrival. I understand things being out of order but to not mention it before booking knowing damn well its not available is just bad service. I just would of found another place no problem. It is a beautiful place and area they have just let it get run down. Heard they are selling so makes sense why they wouldn't care about service anymore and just profit. All the good reviews lately come from profiles with no pictures I'm sure it's the owners or staff cause it is impossible anyone could be pleased. I stood in the main lobby with three other woman frustrated trying to download something to watch for the night. No one seemed happy about it staying there. Why is it called April point resort and spa apparently spa been closed for years doesn't look like opening anytime soon so again false advertising at its finest. Please stay away from this resort unless they sell and new owners put in the effort. Much better options on the island.

If there are more than 5 stars, I would love to rate it that. We recently visited this resort. I have no words to explain our peaceful experience this place provided. Very warm welcome by Jackov. Cleanliness everywhere. Rooms were also clean, well-maintained with all the required stuff you may need in perfectly working condition. Then it comes the most important part; food. Restaurant staff was so courteous, humble and caring. I would like to special mention about Tammy who made our eating experience so blissful with her presence, manners, customer service etiquette and so positive behaviour. She is an asset to that place. Jody was also very welcoming. Food was very tasty. More than that, the view from hotel was WOW! So, overall, we loved being there and would love to go again.

Very pleased to see this property opened up again. They have really worked hard to develop the landscaping - it's beautiful!The location is stellar - right on Discovery Passage with its wild water, eagles and cruise ships passing by.The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. It was a last minute decision to stay the night and the staff were super accommodating.

Fabulous experience.Food:When I went to the April Point Resort, I did not expect much in terms of food options as it was in a remote area (coming from Vancouver), but I was completely blown away by what Chef Jane and her staff were able to pull off! We were served exquisite truffle soup and seafood chowder as appetizers. For mains, we were served luxurious halibut and a seafood linguine. Chef Jane was very accommodating. All the food rivaled, if not exceeded, what could be found at the best restaurants in major cities. Delicious, spectacular service, and an unbeatable view, I could not ask for more. It was definitely the highlight of my April Point trip and I will definitely be coming back.Rooms/Service:Service was very kind and willing to go the extra mile to make my stay very comfortable. They set up an outlet just for me to charge my electric vehicle. The room was very lovely and had a large luxurious bathtub that could comfortably fit two people. Rooms were very clean and had no issues whatsoever.Overall it was a great experience and wonderful time.
