Very cool active archaeological site with tons of interesting history on the settlement and power struggles of NFLD. Walking through the cobblestone paths was a treat, and the sweeping shorelines and waves are amazing to enjoy. Would recommend a visit for sure when travelling along the Irish loop!

An excellent tour guides interperpreted the daily lives and activities of this very early settlement that dates back to 1621. The ongoing archiological work is fascinating.

Very interesting and informative, and the staff and instructors are very knowledgeable and passionate about the material and they exemplify this in their superb presentation of the subject matter.Archaeology is a very demanding field and what you find requires a lot of experience and training in order to interpret correctly, oftentimes with the only reward being your findings themselves and their significance to the bigger picture so if you're in that field then you've already shown you have what it takes.I visited this site during my trip to St. John's, Newfoundland, from June 8th to June 15th, with three of my relatives and we were all pleasantly surprised by what the site and facilities had to offer us, and what we got out of it by the end of the day. I very highly recommend going here when you have the chance. You will not be disappointed.

The Museum Center is very easy to get to just off the main road. The people are phenomenally polite. The museum admission price is reasonable and the staff has done an amazing job put together the history of the site. The combination of artefacts and document research shows a vibrant community of various faiths living together in a new land. As someone from Maryland I was fascinated by this history and the connection of Maryland to this place. Go - it is worth the time and energy.

There was a guided tour, with a very knowledgeable guide named Zachery. He gave the tour at a pace that felt smooth and fluid, yet did not leave the Mobility impaired member of our group struggling to keep up.The visitor center was a combination museum showcase and information booth, with very friendly staff. There is an option to sign up for to do some actual excavation with professional supervision.Worth the very affordable admission, you can spend as many hours as you are looking to fill.

We complete the Irish Loop and stop in for a visit to explore the artifacts and items on display. This was one of our best places to visit on the Irish Loop.

The guided tour was well reasonably priced and added details that we would not have known if we had just wandered around the site. The recovered artifacts added to the experience.

Very interesting place to visit as it has a small interpretive Centre but a live archeological dig with an active lab was interesting. The guided tour with Anemone was the best - very friendly and informative. CBC initially kept us from the kitchen but we actually did get in at the end. Laurie was a hoot!
