Serving the Downtown Community. Located in the 10C Carden Building. Entrance on Macdonrell Street. Cafe Monday & Tuesday 10am - 12 noon. Donations accepted when open from the Community. Wednesday from 7pm - 8pm Community assistance with Groceries, Clothing, Bedding, (wash all clothing & bedding, precaution Bed Bugs) Housewares & items as needed. Minor clothing mending. Friday from 10am - 12noon but you Need to Register the first time. Your name is taken down as well as number in household. So you must bring some form of IDThe Main language is English Written & Verbal. Their are no translator's.. If you need a translator it would be helpful to bring one. Contact Immigrant Services Guelph-Wellington on Dawson for assistance. This is something you will have to do on your own. Chalmers will not do this for you. It will make your life easier. It will save Chalmers & you alot of frustrations.Lineup starts an hour before open. Earlier you are the better. Priorities are given to families.High Carbs & Sugar snacks. Not good at night when you are getting your kids ready for bed. I highly recommend not bringing children here.Be aware high emotions & sudden outbursts. Be prepared for verbal violence. Their is no easier way of saying this.

Never meet a bunch of nicer people. They were helpful. They made me feel like I was a stronger person for accepting the help, Not ashamed for needing the help they provided.
