Everyone can agree the perfect vacation is not complete without a gargantuan colander. Rest assured you will not be disappointed at the Cox Bay Beach Resort.Oh sure, the beach is fantastic, the staff is super friendly and accommodating, and the suites are well maintained and super cozy. One could write a review about the detailed thought that the architects and designers put into the planning of this resort, and how one could tell that was followed through to every detail inside and outside of the suite, but of course that would be neglecting the most important part of the Cox Bay Beach Resort – the super-sized sieve in the kitchen.We all know that when cooking dinner for two and draining pasta that we want 95% of the colander to be unused. It’s a simple way to assert meal prep dominance and show your friends and family members you are not to be messed with.Other reviews probably talk about the rest of the well-appointed kitchen, the storage lockers for surfboards, the hot tub right off the beach and how the resort is simultaneously away from it all but also in the middle of the ‘action’ of Tofino. Some may talk about how the area is nestled into the stunning natural surroundings that is so uniquely the West Coast that it lays bare a truly unparalleled experienced. But, they would unfortunately be missing the most important part – superfluous sieve.In summary, if you want a colossal colander that is wider than your spouse, visit Cox Bay Beach Resort and you will not be disappointed.

This is all about location, so close to the beach, yet no, or very little view of ocean from room. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Single family use of common areas, hottub, gym is nice, but a bit inconvenient when you just want a 5 minute soak after surfing.

Incredible location and accommodations. You’re right on the beach and you can hear the ocean whilst enjoying the outdoor hot tub. The full kitchen, living room, and fireplace were wonderful additions. Will be staying here again next time!

Whether you are into surfing (or any other ocean activities) or not, Cox Bay resort is a great place for a wonderful retreat.Super friendly and helpful staff, cozy and warm rooms with great appliances and amenities. Great sense of design too.Pet friendly.Located right at the beach. Provides lockers and lock pads for your surfing equipment.Less than 10 minutes drive from Tofino's most popular restaurants, shops and touristic destinations.I love and appreciate the fact that they provide carts to help you loading in when you arrive.Overall, it's is a wonderful place to visit Tofino. I'd recommend to get the smallest room and occupy it with 4 adults to make it more economically friendly.Things to improve:1. the kitchen was great, but we had difficulties cooking with their pans. They tend to get very sticky unless you add lots of oil/butter. Perhaps is a good idea to bring your own pans and extra cookware if you are planning to be picky with your meal preps.2. Once you step out to the beach and look back, you'll notice the neighboring resorts seem to provide better quality. i.e. more space, sitting areas with fire pits and great views of the ocean. I'm sure the other resorts are more pricey though, and I personally did not need those extra features, so Cox Bay resort was just perfect for my needs.

Just returned from our 2nd visit to Cox Bay Beach Resort. Our first was 8 years ago as a couple and this time we came with kids and dog in tow. I was really impressed that the quality of the hotel still feels so good after almost a decade. The location is perfect, rooms are cozy and spacious. Staff were friendly. Having to book the workout room/hot tub was actually a positive so we could plan out our day and have space for the kids.Look forward to returning again, hopefully sooner this time!

This resort has made our Tofino trip really special! This is such a relaxing place, my husband and I are already planning out next trip out here.Pros:- The units are immaculately clean- Only 1 party can use the amenities at a time, no sharing! (A+ for that)- The amenities themselves: hot tub, sauna, gym, yoga/meditation room, lookout room, on site BBQs….- Steps away from the beach- Resort is quiet and safe- Staff are friendly and helpfulCons:-None :) fire pits & a coffee spot could be a nice addition though…I cannot recommend this resort enough. Book your trip to Cox Bay Resort now!!

Phenomenal!! I visited during the wildfires and was nervous when informed the main route was closed. My nervousness subsided when Sara gave me the detour route. I made it safely and in good timing as the detour route equipped with signage and drivable conditions. Cox Bay would not be what it is without the staff who radiant positivity and good vibes!! My room was immaculately clean and fully stocked with laundry pods, dishwasher detergent, and a comfortable bed. The location is supreme to watch the sunset and surf. There’s so many great things about this resort!! It took me 19 hours to make it to this peaceful haven and I would do it again. Keep up the exceptional efforts of making guests feel something they never knew they needed.

Great spot with friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Plenty of amenities for all sorts of activities and right on a great beach!

I stayed at Cox Bay Resort with my fiancée for 3 nights.The room was a nice ground level suite with a full kitchenette. I felt the insulation was not good as I could hear the steps of the occupancy upstairs. Upon entering suite, it was not thoroughly clean, the main concern was a dirty toilet bowl.Pros:-2 minute walk to the beach with amazing view.-Community hot tub and gym, common area.-Gated parking.Cons:-No restaurant, had to eat next door or go into town for food.-No sitting/lounge area viewing the ocean.I would definitely come back here, it was overall a nice accommodation.

Fantastic location that's perfect for a stress-free family get away. Suites are modern, well kept, and include all necessary appliances to avoid the frequent restaurant visits. The pull-out/hide-a-bed was a bit rigged, but the kids don't know the difference yet :P The queen bed was perfect, not too soft, not too hard, Goldilocks.
