Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival

this is the most tricky event I have never seen before. the tickets you bought online mean nothing. it only allows you to enter the gate, you have to buy extra coupon or briclet if you want to play some very old game. don't waste money here. too bad. And we went there 3 times, 1 early morning, 6:30 am, 2 afternoon, 6:30pm, baloons are not going up then they are ready and finally they cancelled flight even the wind speed is only less than 10km/h. so many people waited for long time and left with much disappointment.

$65 is a lot for air balloon viewing. There aren't even that many balloons going up

We went there just for hot air balloon lift off. So, I won’t be able to comment much on the rides and other events and stuff available for the family. Unfortunately due to the weather the lift off didn’t happen.One thing you should keep in mind that parking was only available for people who were camping there. You may get asked to park in Jacques-Cartier or else park on the street.

Decided to give it a try after not going for 4 years (prices have been extreme) Never again, majority of everyone was nice that is not an issue. Its the fact of for a family of 4 it was $196.00 to get into the fair and be able to ride the rides. There was maybe 4 9 tents there with vendors (in previous years there was rows and rows of tents to shop and look at ), there was not as many rides as advertised and because of that lines were so long it was not enjoyable for the kids especially riding the same ones over. We did not get to see the balloons at all. I get the weather sometimes they cannot go up and that is fine HOWEVER for the night light up (when you pay the price you do for the ticket) it should be mandatory all balloon participates light up their balloons on the grounds for at least 20 min display. It was sooo much better years ago, way more balloons to see, so many vendors, ride and people it was great now its honestly just sad with the lack of stuff there for the amount you pay. Never again will we be back.

Rarely do I see 1 hot air balloon. Today saw several of them. There's a serene beauty to simply floating along where the wind takes you. Really enjoyed this.

We travelled all the way from Toronto, they cancelled the Hot Air Balloon show due to the weather and didn’t even provide a refund nor allowed us to use the ticket for the next day.

Was a fun experience.Liquor at every corner, and a few good shops to browse .The food was well done on the choices but lines were too long.Entertainment was fantastic, just sound check was lacking.Sitting at every stage in the center. It was as if the guy who pre sound checked was deaf in his right ear. There was also some slight delay on lights as well, since most sequences seemed to stutter.I get it, after a few days, things just go as they go, but when you pay money and travel from another city, be on top game to attract next year's attendees...

Being the owner/host at Amazing Property Rentals (short term renrals), I am so haapy that this Amazing event is a 1 minute walk from our units. Myself and my guests love it! Each year it gets better. From live entertainment to lots of rides, games, fast food, restaurants, there is always so much to do and we always have a fabulous time. This event is perfect for everyone of all ages.

So many lovely staff at entry and around the festival but unfortunately it was a total rip off. There was no balloon show.. I guess because of the weather, although this was never communicated. Everyone was just waiting around and we eventually found someone to ask. We were quite unwell from the food too, pretty dire. We were so looking forward to it but would definitely not recommend.

We went for the day and there were ZERO hot air balloons. None inflated on the ground. None in the sky. It was a fair... which is not why I paid to go. Very disappointed. When I emailed customer service they told me to double check terms and conditions before I purchase things online... very condescending.
