From the first email with our sales rep right to the final moments of picking up our new 4Runner and then the drop off and pickup with service, our experience with Forbes Toyota has been nothing short of perfection! Our sales rep Mihajlo was patient, informative and the whole team worked to make sure we were happy leading up to and including the final purchase of our vehicle. Throughout the entire process we were genuinely treated like family. After poor experiences with other manufacturers in the past, and a few trips taken with our new 4Runner, I think we just might be Toyota drivers for life! Thank you Forbes Waterloo Toyota!

Nice large place and has friendly staff. The issue is they overcharge way over MSRP for parts and services. They even charged more than what the Lexus dealer quoted.I went for transmission fluid drain and fill, and bought some parts then notices parts are more than usual. Thought it was inflation, then called Toyota in Cambridge, Guelph and also Kitchener Lexus and they were all consistent to the T and about 40% cheaper than this one.I went back and told the guy, and he was clueless!Anyways, they charged me as much as they quoted, it was my bad that didn't check around first. So there is that!Although on the phone I was told it's flush and when I get there they told me it's a drain and fill.I attached a pic of the receipt of the part

I was sold a used Tundra and 5,000 km later the transmission went. Nothing I can do about it, because I signed a waiver saying that they assume no responsibilities.Buyer beware.UPDATE: Hey, if you don’t appreciate receiving honest reviews, then don’t tell customers that a vehicle is ‘mechanically sound’, after having YOUR mechanic take a look at it. I guess 1 star means more to you than the fact that I lost an entire transmission on the vehicle you sold me. Not to mention the dealership said it would cost me $9,000 to refurbish.Let me spell it out for you, a transmission for a Toyota Tundra far exceeds a 1 star rating.BUYER BEWARE OF THIS DEALERSHIP!!!

My first visit was great. Quick and smooth. It was my first time dealing with a big dealership actually. It was eye opening to see what customer service can be like. Really was amazing. Then after forgetting my house keys in the Uber, they helped me get it sorted out and got the Uber driver back to my place with my keys, and not even once did they so much as chuckle at my idiocy lol. Really appreciate all the help and patience. Looking forward to my next visit. Thank you very much!!

Booking:We booked a car in 2022 and the booking process was super easy (Thanks Paul!). The car arrived approximately 10 months later and we received a call from Paul about upcoming delivery and were told that the prices had increased over last year (as expected).Trade-in Experience:Our trade-in vehicle was appraised lower than the market so we asked to pick up after a week, and we agreed with the dealership that we will try to sell to another local dealer or sell privately. The other well reputed local dealer offered us ~11% over what Forbes Toyota offered. Forbes Toyota agreed to match this offer but did not want to do dealer trades with other dealers, or entertain any higher bids from any other dealers. We ended up selling the car privately. We could have avoided going to the other dealership and saved some time if we were told in advance that Forbes Toyota does not trade trade-ins with other dealers due to a change in their policy within the last year.Advertised Price and Dealer Admin Fee:Toyota Canada on their website states that the dealers can charge a fee of over $1200 for dealer admin fees. Forbes Toyota standard charge is $795, and some other local dealerships either do not charge any amount for admin fees, or the charge is lower than $795. We found our vehicle (same stock number) listed on the Forbes Toyota website for an advertised total price that was lower than what was listed on our bill of sale. We pointed this out to the Forbes Toyota dealership team, and were told this was due to a system error. After some emails, calls and an in person meeting, the dealership was able to honour the advertised price on their website. This was also in line with the OMVIC rules.Financing and Protection Add-ons:All dealerships try to sell add-ons through their finance team/business office. The experience here was less than ideal. We did not purchase any additional protection plans for the vehicle, agreed to disagree on a few things, and moved on.Pickup day:Paul (our salesperson) went over all the paperwork and car features in detail. Mike Gibson (Sales Manager) was very courteous, and we received a couple of Forbes Toyota branded caps and flowers (Thank you Forbes Toyota). We picked up our vehicle on Saturday and our ownership papers were not ready the day of pickup and we were told to come back and pick them up on Monday which we did.Tips to buyers:Do your research before you buy:-Check dealer admin fees from local dealers-Read online reviews. Some customers are more vocal than others about their experience-Review car prices and other information on Unhaggle website-Look over OMVIC’s website and know your rights and laws before you purchase-Research what your financing and leasing options are and make a decision based on your individual situation and financial goals-Research the protection add-ons that dealership offers, compare them with Toyota Canada website, research what you need (Google) and then purchase what is suitable for your circumstance

Service is great and the dealership sales people are very helpful in figuring out options. Note: the hybrids, especially, may take months (4-15) to be delivered because of high demand. You only need to deposit $500 to order, with financing and add-on options determined upon delivery. They have a 2 month interest rate protection guarantee when arranging financing. Note: if you use a mobility aid, go in the main doors for service and the leasing entrance to arrange to buy or lease. There are only stairs inside between those two divisions. There is no designated disabled parking but they are soon reconfiguring their parking lot to address this shortfall.

Forbes is great. Ask for John Leonard if you are looking for a vehicle and want to be taken care of at the highest standard. From our first walk in to the final delivery of our Tacoma, John was with us every step of the way. Great people and great customer experience. Will buy another Toyota from Forbes and John in a heartbeat! Thanks for a fantastic experience.

They sell quality cars if you can get one. Had to listen to the sales guy for nearly 40 minutes before he finally admitted that either of the two vehicles we were interested in would likely take 2 to 3 years to get. He still has orders from summer 2020 that are not filled. Also, not a display model in sight. After doing some searching to read reviews, the most irritating thing of all is the nonstop flow of Toyota adds all over my media feeds for vehicles you can not buy.Their vehicles might be very high quality but everything else about them right now is terrible. With the inability to fill orders, I'd also be concerned about getting parts you'd need due to a failure or accident.
