Ever since the blood tribe took over they have nothing but a bunch of goofy degenerates working as security the quality of life for the street people definitely went down city should just go back to the old management blood tribe doesn't know what they're doing, the management there now is a reflection of the reserve entities very corrupt

The female staff member who wears a white shirt (won't mention names) older lady. Usually screams and degrades the homeless is racist towards natives and kicks people out wily nilly. Today I was banned on Thanksgiving because I was cold and wanted to come in someone rang the door bell and she came out screaming at everyone. The lady threatened to hit me and another staff member called the police and tried to push me out of the building physically. I waited for the officers and they didn't listen kicked me out anyways and threatened to charge me. There is a scarcity of hygiene products and food. They're supposed to have socks underwear soap toothbrush and toothpaste and they hardly ever do. Deny people blankets make up their own rules on the fly and kick people's mats and yell at people to wake them up. The entire staff needs to be let go except one of them and that's the older french man who actually has some compassion for others. If I knew where to take the complaints I would do something about it if it weren't for the fact that people need somewhere to sleep plus people have already tried they don't have any voice for themselves.... Its sad when you wake up to people screaming since someone is od'ing inside the building and they don't even know how to give them the narcan medicine and while the guy is choking on his own toung meanwhile staff is screaming at people not to touch him even though they're trying to put him in the safety position so he'll live. It's dirty black mold in the bathrooms and they closed half the building put up a wall so their office could be unseen since they all sit around pretending to do something and get paid while we're all suffering. They have just dried out pizza week old and not even microwaved and any agency your refered to by the staff will either say sorry you aren't elligiel for this program you make no money or sorry you already have an income. They drive people to the edge and give people thoughts of suicidal ideation. The only good meals are brought in by people in the community the volunteer people are the only ones with smiles on their faces and the shelter staff make them clean up people's messes and break up arguments...... I say 1.2 out of ten....ps people usually do the drugs because they're cold tired and hungry then they don't need to feel that way

If you are in need, call Alpha House ph #.The staff were very helpful and respectful. The shelter was a clean, warm place to lay my head for some much needed sleep. The location is a bit rough as I work on the West side and accessibility is challenging with transit being less than useless right now, however, anyone seeking immediate shelter do not hesitate to call or simply show up and look for someone in a reflective vest. They will do everything they can to assist you and provide you with information and other resource ph#’s. I have not noted anything missing from my bags while in staff care, however other patrons of the service have claimed to have had things stolen so be cautious and take only what you need. The sleeping arrangement was that of a shelter,, but trust me, it beats sleeping in a bush and was not bad at all. The soup kitchen is also attached to the building, I have not yet utilized that portion of the service, but there is food and I was even offered something to eat when I checked in at 11pm. They also have showers to use if you prefer to stay clean. All in all if you are unsure, but you are desperate for somewhere to sleep, this place will help.

Nice place to visit, wouldn't want to stay here... But honestly was okay and isn't like a dingy back alley location, so overall it is what it is. But when or if in need the doors were open and staff available to answer questions.

My boyfriend passed in their custody, and not only they did not return my calls of his passing, they were completely dehumanized to me, and him.Trying to understand what happened, the staff sounded it sound like I was calling about a late pizza. I can't even begin to say how upset I am about this. He was a person..not a thong. A person gone is tragic no matter the circumstances....but to be so cold and act like people are cattle and they're too busy to giv a loved one answers and show compassion?. No.He was better off never going there.

Huge roast to the Lethbridge Shelter and Resource center. Especially the shorter older bald guy in a grey ford ranger. The wife and family were feeding the people with a prepackaged roast beef dinner. In honor of a famiy member who passed recently. This guy came out got mad that they were feeding the less fortunate. Saying that they were making their jobs harder by feeding the homeless. He chased them away and threatened to call the police. He said it was not time for them to eat yet. Was very rude. Even tho they were not on shelter property. Told the wife the street was their property. Even after explaining it is our way and tradition to do this after a funeral. This disgusting human being needs to give his head a shake. You sir need some serious retraining.

Was feeding those in and around the shelter in honor of a family member who passed. The director came out and yelled at us to get away that they are fed at the soup kitchen he was rude and threatened to call the police. He is not a good person. Those at the shelter also say its been a rough 3 yeaes under alpha house. With first nations making up 50% of those who use the shelter. Why was there no first nations workers under alpha house at the shelter?. Many who use the shelter complained of bias and prejudice from workers and those in charge of the shelter. Glad to see alpha hoise go. Good riddance

I spent time there when I was down and out,and let me start off by saying I don't think there is a worse shelter in Alberta let alone Lethbridge, where do I begin, oh and by the way, the people who giving this hell hole good reviews obviously don't have a clue what they're talking about because they don't see it through a client's point of view. Anyway there WAS a few really good staff there but they to got so sick of the b.s that goes on there, that they quit(and I wouldn't blame them) most of the time, most of the staff are pretending to be working and mean while a client could be in dire need of some thing and the staff( who most of them are incompetent and could care less about the homeless) will just stare at with glazed look on they're face as their the ones on drugs, which let me add there were and still are staff that work there that are just as bad as some of the client's when it comes to doing drugs. Anyway just writing this review is making me sick so end it by saying, the place needs a complete overhaul(staff and the building, because the place is more like a jail then a shelter) and as for most, not all, but most of the staff need to be replaced by people who actually want to make a difference instead of being there to stand around and look stupid. And the if the community thinks that because they donate of bring decent food to the shelter, that they are helping so they can feel good about them selves, they are sadly mistaken.why?? Because you know what happens to the donations that go to that place? There picked through by the corrupt staff and management and whatever's left that the employees haven't took, then the poor client's get the leftovers. Anyway let's just say some big changes need to be made to the place.

Hard to believe this is what the shelter has become. From scabies to body lice and bed bugs. No wonder the people have setup a tent city. Not to mention the staff there. 90% are only there for a pay cheque. If you have no empathy or compassion. Why do you work in the addictions field?Smh
