Very unimpressed by the service and communication with Denray tire.I had them replace rear brake pads and rotors on my 2013 VW Jetta. A 1.4 hour job on paper.I dropped the vehicle off Thursday morning.I got the car back the next day with dash lights for the Traction control, ABS and airbags. Took it back immediately. Apparently these lights had not shown up during the 20km test drive my vehicle has received post service. They informed me they had taken a cutting torch to heat up the rotors to remove them and upon scanning the fault codes and determined there was a problem with the passenger rear speed sensor.The new speed sensor had to be ordered out of Winnipeg and wouldn’t be in until Monday. So I was without a safely functioning vehicle for the weekend. GreatBrought back on Monday and after installing a new speed sensor (which they agreed to cover parts and labour for) the dash lights still remained.Upon further investigation they found they had melted a plastic ring on the wheel bearing in which the speed sensor takes its reading from. They told me I will they have to get another part from Winnipeg and I will have to wait one more day. Awesome.Finally on Tuesday afternoon (6 days later) my vehicle was finally ready. No mention of addition costs for parts or labour over the phone.Walking in I was expecting at least an apology for having to give up using my only vehicle for 6 days for a 1.4 hour job. Instead my keys where withheld until I paid an additional $152 for the new wheel bearing that they wrecked torching it!A gear puller, hydraulic press, trusty sledgehammer or literally anything that could apply a large force on the rotor could have been used. Instead they tried to save time and heated the rotor not knowing about the plastic component within the bearing. Then Denray had to troubleshoot and waste time finding out what they had done wrong. And to offset their costs they charged me for a part that was never agreed upon over the phone. The original problem however (the speed sensor) they had agreed to over the phone to cover parts and labour. How does that make any sense?Denray please learn from you mistakes and struggles. You may have recouped some of your costs from me today but you have lost me as a customer and now have this review. I will be urging anyone seeking auto service to stay far away from your shop.
